WhileI believe he did it, I think I would have felt compelled to acquit based on the cops' handling of the blood sample. They injected reasonable doubt into the case by fucking taking his blood to the crime scene. They were sloppy and possibly actually criminal themselves if they scattered some there.

I had a situation with another well reviewed provider on RM and on here. We had arranged an outcall a couple of days in advance and re-confirmed the day of. Then a couple of hours before the agreed time, he texts that he wants a deposit. I told him no and if he wanted a deposit he should have told me upfront so I could contact a different provider. That is total BS. 

That’s bullshit. 100% bullshit. What rule derived from the nature of the business you refer to? What do you think came first, the prostitute or the client?
 
You seem to believe that clients CREATED escorting. That clients CREATED RentMen. No, the only thing that has been created by clients is stuff like review boards like this. Maybe in this realm, people can assume rules they can or won’t do. Other than that, y’all aren’t running the business either, nor making rules for how providers wish to run things. 

I’m fine with clients paying after they have received, however a deposit is not negotiable. Granted in the case of this guy, the deposit did seem to be asked a bit late. I don’t even give out my hotel name or address without a deposit. They get cross streets, where there’s likely 5 other hotels nearby. 
 
That said, unless someone posts the exchange of what occurred…who’s to say it actually happened verbatim? Something could be missing here. I find most stories here hard to believe without text message screenshots from start to finish. 
 

I remember years ago, can’t remember where though: I read something that an escort who’s really serious about going to the next level should always have a “Working name”. I find most of the guys getting into tussles, seem to be picking guys with generic and explicit names.

And if were me, I would never go to a hotel without a room number…Its not the deposit that was the issue. That was just the facilitator. What y’all should have done, is you should have verified his room number by asking if you can call him at his hotel room. In which case he should have mentioned he requires a deposit before providing his room number.
That’s where I find sometimes clients are gullible too because, they dash out to meet without doing any common sense checks. And half be bluffing anyway. Of course some of these escorts may be phony too, but that’s why it’s good for both to ensure proper checks.

Do not give until you have gotten. It is a rule that derives from the nature of the business. The market is over saturated with "providers"; I am amused that a provider suffers under the delusion that he is the " end all", and, thereby, he can run the market. The reality of the thing being that "escorting" is a buyer's market.  If the provider demands a deposit, walk on as I assure you, there is something bigger and better just around the corner who will be more accommodating.

It would be fine, he can do that. Usually people that book that far in advance are serious and they plan very well so it’s unlikely they’ll cancel unless their travel plans change.
Obviously the he earlier I know the better. If he cancelled an hour before I’d be pissed of course but to counter that happening I always message clients the day before the session to make sure they are still all ok and if it’s a new client I’ll also message on the day with “see you later” as a further reminder. If I don’t get a response to that (or at least see that it’s been read) then I’ll follow up with a message to check he’s still ok. If those pre meeting messages are ignored and it’s a new client then I’ll cancel it and assume he won’t show. 
My time waster radar is highly tuned now so I can usually sift out these types before it even gets to a booking being made. Most of these are the ones who like the idea of a session (usually when they’re horny) and so they book it ….but then when it comes to the day of the session they get anxious and either don’t show or they come up with some excuse to cancel.
The pre meeting reminder messages I send tends to be effective with these guys. Plus they tend to try again a year or so later (they forget they were in contact!) but I keep the records so I know they got cold feet previously. There’s a few like that who clearly build up the horn to book a session every year or so and then who cancel it with some excuse when the reality hits home! I find it amusing because when they book they’re clearly running some fantasy in their head “I want you to do x and x to me, I want to have y and z etc….I’m definitely going to be a regular…I love big cocks, I’m very tight etc etc”. Then the day before they message with “sorry Jamie my mother’s cat died…my car has a flat tyre…I’ve got Covid…I’ll rebook soon etc”. Then I hear nothing from him for a year or so until it happens again 😂.

You cannot mentally allow yourself to fully monetize the act.  It will ruin you in the long run.

I wouldn't consider it an intuitive business model to try to get a deposit AFTER a missed meeting.
It's the reason you ask for the deposit beforehand.  It's incentive-based collateral to make someone keep their schedule.
If a client flakes, he flakes.  If the excuse is an understandable one, you make the call as to giving him another shot.
If not, you just move on.  I don't tend to dwell on those who have wasted my time.
