  1. I watched it again. Still on Netflix. I like Andrew Scott.
  2. Streaming on Amazon Prime is the re-imagining of Cinderella . The Prince is played by Nicholas Galitzine. A good choice. He was in the movie Handsome Devil, on Netflix. Side Note Handsome Devil was WAY better than the reviews IMO. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother is played by Billy Porter. He's great. Most of the cast is pretty good. But this isn't something I'd consider watching again.
  3. I never get tired of watching A Room with a View a film produced by Merchant Ivory Productions. Producer Ismail Merchant and director James Ivory were life partners. The story was drawn from the book by E.M. Forster, a gay British author. Lucy's brother, the sweet Freddy Honeychurch, is not a gay character although he is quite smitten with the character George Emmerson, so one might wonder. No need to clutch your pearls. Rupert Graves was 22 when this filmed. The hidden gem of the movie might be Daniel Day Lewis as the effete Cecil. You might complain it's not really a gay movie. OK. Then Maurice is another I never get tired of watching. Another Merchant Ivory production based on another book by Forster. In this production, Ivory has Rupert Graves playing cricket instead of tennis. He's still cute!
  4. The Power of the Dog got a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, according to the article in Variety. Based on a novel written in the 1960's. The story takes place on a ranch in Montana back in the 1920's. I may read the novel before the movie is released. Sounds good. If you watch the trailer or read reviews of the novel you'll know the story evokes homoerotic tension. Cumberbatch plays an American rancher, and sounds like he's quite good in this movie. i recommend not watching the trailer or reading any reviews, to avoid too much unnecessary information.
  5. Yes, OSU has a good band. 😊 Watching the Bruins marching band at the storied Rose Bowl is fun. In 1936 Ira Gershwin revised the lyrics to his Strike Up the Band , calling the new version "Strike Up the Band for UCLA". Good luck this week Bruins!!
  6. Yes! When I was a lad living in Norcross GA I fell in love with this sweet Georgia boy. His smile and his syrupy sweet Georgia accent melted me.
  7. Agree. Miss them both. Awwshuck's departure seemed apropos in retrospect.
  8. I joined ALTA when I lived in Atlanta so I played a lot of tennis. The humidity was difficult for me. I lived a few places in the Midwest, but was never affected by the heat and humidity like in Georgia.
  9. I'm convinced some of the basketball jocks are looking for gay companionship afterwards. It makes sense.
  10. Firebird (2021, Estonia/UK) set in the Soviet Union during the Cold War, is screening at Outfest 2021 here in LA. This year you can stream the films during a limited window of time for each. Firebird screened at the Moscow International Film Festival earlier this year. I am curious how such a film is being received there. The movie is based on Sergey Fetisov’s memoir about Roman, the fighter pilot Fetisov fell in love with. It seems this was a passion project by those that became aware of the memoir. I would love to read it. This is a modest budget indie movie. It's good.
  11. I have not seen any unexpected great ass at Whole Foods but perhaps I need to focus. I'll be on the lookout now. 😀
  12. I read about homosexuality in the newspaper and realized OMG , that's what I am. I remember going to an afterschool movie with a classmate and felt this excitement being with him. That was way before I ever understood about sex between guys. Now it's all out there on the internet.
  13. Side note: I've noticed jock-type gay or gay curious guys lingering at the basketball hoops at a couple of parks I walked my dogs and at least twice observed a love connection (or lust connection) unfolding after the game when most of the guys were heading home.
  14. There is a video of Ben Platt singing Craig Carnelia's Flight from his senior solo night performance. You can find it on his YouTube channel. What a natural talent! In the meantime, here is Words Fail from a super emotional point in Dear Evan Hansen.
  15. Couple of comments. I've seen trouble on board, and it involved passengers that were drunk. That is a tough problem to solve, because the rests of us might want to enjoy a cocktail. Don't certain federal laws kick in once the wheels leave the runway? i wish these peeps would experience an appropriate penalty for their scary in flight behavior.
  16. Street Bar in PS used to have some fun older gents at tables out front, for an afternoon cocktail.
  17. I tried Seancody for a while. Was interesting how they had Stu pop up in some clever new edits of older videos just to say hello or throw a bone to his fans. That surprised me because for a while it sounded like he wanted a clean break from gay porn and was torn by his choice to ever do it. To each his own, but I am not attracted to body builders and was disappointed at what became of Stu's physique. He seemed like a great guy though, so best of luck in whatever path.
  18. For a bad experience, i appreciate when reviews stick to the facts, and just the facts, and not a review trying to trash somebody. Own your own reaction without assigning too many labels to the provider. e.g. "he's is a failure at communicating" vs. "I had little success communicating with him" Same for a good experience. I like the reviews that remind how everyone's experience may vary. So, perhaps the data requested can guide the review to stay reasonable that way.
  19. I regret that etymology was never in my wheelhouse. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.... That being said I still find it interesting. But that's just me being me.
  20. One can use "so" to help indicate a consequence, and is especially helpful when the audience isn't as clever as we here in the forum.
  21. I am not surprised how it turned out. Was a little bit underwhelming. But there was a first for me. I've never seen that on screen before, even if it was camera trick.
  22. Dear White People returns next month for those into that. I loved it. I'm excited. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I finished The Great. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@SPOILER@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ 😢 One could always see why he was loved. I suppose at the very beginning he foreshadowed his own end.
