  1. A high roller bringing two strangers from a hotel bar to their room sounds especially risky. Many men have been victimized, especially by two women, under that scenario. I see little connection with this and escorts, though, other than taking appropriate precaution anytime one might be vulnerable. Escorts face risks too, right?
  2. More Billy Strings on PBS, Austin City Limits. He's so awesome. His tour continues to sell out all the way into April, shows in London are all sold out.
  3. My parents, both Swedes, they kept it all inside. 😆
  4. During high school I took a city bus to my afterschool job at the downtown public library. Downtown streets at Christmas were adorned with all sorts of lights and decorations So beautiful. As a kid, I loved it. The main library was quite a place, built in the early 1900s. The building had a two story atrium that was decked out with wonderful decorations during the holidays. The children's section had extra copies of holiday themed books for the kids. They always loaned out fast. Walking between the bus stop and the library was sometimes a bit scary. I still remember how I would encounter a few odd men along the way, mostly around some old brick transient residences, places where men ended up when "down on their luck". I was pretty nieve, but still had sense not to make eye contact, and to maintain a brisk pace onward to the library. A few times I was beckoned to stop but never did. 'Got a cigarette?' 'Nope, late for work!' Was so long ago. I've been on the West Coast for 25 years now, and rarely visit the old stomping grounds. It's nice to remember old times though, isn't it?
  5. Tunisian? Italians on Lawn Guyland are part Tunisian? Who knew?? The following GIF was meant in light hearted humor. Anyway, the bodybuilder is probably out of the will. He may turn a few heads in the clink.
  6. I'm half way through it. Got interrupted. All four leads are very good, IMO.
  7. Thanks, I'll add it to my queue. After two days of streaming I learned Ken Burns added 15 more years to the film, re-released in 2010. So much history!! Ebbets Field, The Curse, https://www.mlb.com/history/negro-leagues, Jackie Robinson, Joe Dimaggio, Babe Ruth, and on and on.
  8. Yes. This documentary is 27 years old and I have never watched until now. It is streaming on my service. If you love history and love documentary film, this is a good choice. I'm understanding how the phrase "American as baseball and apple pie" rings true. Over the years one would hear how long ago the Cubs had won a World Series, in 1908, but never heard about the drama of the Cubs battling the NY Giants for the pennant that year. Was pretty nutz. Ty Cobb
  9. Knowing how much vaccine misinformation and how many wild vaccine conspiracy theories are posted on fanatical Websites, I see value in reminding the error of their ways, these dead folks that bought into the B.S. Might make a few think twice about the risk taken.
  10. I joined with a friend each Christmas Eve for a holiday dinner at a lovely home, where the same folks would gather by tradition each year. For me it was a magical evening of fellowship with some very interesting people. So many fun, amazing stories were shared. The gathering was like my own personal Brigadoon. But the pandemic stopped the gathering last year, and of course again this year. I don't know if the host will resurrect the event in the future. I have a sense he won't for various reasons. The pandemic has eliminated all sorts of activities, but this is one of the most special, one that I'll think about again this Christmas Eve.
  11. Ann Northrop and Andy Humm discussed Power of the Dog this week's GAY USA. Their comments mirror the above posts, a well done movie but not swept away by it.
  12. I arrived in SoCal 20 years ago. There was a popular bar in Long Beach, at least it was with me. A lot of hot guys of all stripes. There was a smallish dance floor. The owner was well known. A realtor? Memory fades. Can't recall the name of the place. It was near a Ralph's. It closed, probably before 2010. My gang would try the Boom now and then, but the drive was daunting. We had a couple of LA destinations. The El Rey had Friday events starting late. Fun! There was a place called Stone Bar in Thai Town that was gay on Fridays. Cute bartenders. Friendly, hot dancers. 😄 Ripples was fun. Tried the Abby once or twice. We ate dinner there. Years ago! Otherwise didn't go to WEHO except for non-bar events. Costa Mesa was a fun clubbing destination with my straight friends in the early 2000s.
  13. I finished The Swimming Pool Library, by Alan Hollinghurst, earlier this Fall, and now trying another of his. Just started The Strangers Child.
  14. India's kitty-cat yowl may have been the deciding factor. 🐱
