    Billy Strings

Our local PBS aired a rerun of Billy Strings performance on Blues Underground tonight. I found this video from the show, but there was another piece where he really cooked. He looked kinda purdy too.😍 I did a little Googling and learned he won the 2021 Grammy for bluegrass album. Most of his current tour is sold out, including LA.
  2. I'm not up to speed on Hacks, The Great or Dead to Me. I'll check into those. Hap and Leonard on Netflix is interesting. The Sopranos was in a class by itself IMO. If you are going back that far, Six Feet Under is awesome and The Wire is considered one of the better TV dramas ever. However it can be a little raw for some people.
  3. I'm not sure if Fleabag is done or not, but it was great. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel I loved a lot. I believe it is returning. Same with Ozark. Great show! I haven't heard when the next season will arrive. High Fidelity on Hulu was canceled. Tragic. Lot of great characters. I loved Cherise. Da'vine Joy Randolph is amazing.
  4. Hulu has renewed Love, Victor for another season. The cliffhanger from S2 has people anxious to know! S2 turned out pretty good. Here is an Out.com piece on Hulu renewing it.
  5. I agree, film trailers can sell nearly anything. I'm surprised (and less than excited) Wahlberg is in this movie.
  6. LAFC is on the tele tonight. I can't decide who I want to end up with. Carlos Vela Moon-Hwan Kim
  7. Is Prokop 19? This is great. Young players not hiding anymore is a good sign.
  8. By now the news is pretty certain the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners are working out a deal to leave the Big 12. They both intend to jump to the SEC. I am sorry to see the Big 12 take such a hit, and wonder what the future will hold for that conference. Will Baylor and Oklahoma State follow out the door? Both have strong basketball and football programs. There is buzz that Kansas and possibly Iowa State are looking at joining the Big 10. The Big 12 may ultimately vanish in the way the old Southwest Conference did.
  9. I remember liking the dad quite a lot.
  10. It's pretty infuriating. Although I do enjoy watching NBC news get ground to dust by Farrow.
  11. I tried a rescue outfit but found they wanted too many personal credentials and preferred to choose which dog on their website I can meet, not letting me choose. They seemed fussy and weird. So I adopted from the county shelter instead. Very happy with the outcome.
  12. After college I got hired by a company in Minnesota and lived in South MPLS. near Lake Harriet/Lake Calhoun vicinity. Locals would boast of the highest per capita population of gay men anywhere!! More than the Castro, they would say. After a decade I transferred to the West Coast for work. I can't tell you how much I miss Minnesotans. 😉 I trust they continue reminding about all that makes them special.
  13. Having that mother/daughter conversation? I bought a kit on Amazon, made in Australia! Works for me. Got tired of bringing home Fleet. A follow up in the shower with 2 soapy fingers for that extra confidence.😁

  15. Reality TV. We've been taught to be deceitful and mean. Why not add "cheapskates"?
  16. I thought there was a thread somewhere in the forum on Ronan Farrow's book and podcast about how various powerful entities kill news stories, such as reporting about the kind of sex shenanigans Trump, Harvey Weinstein and others have gotten into. Can't find anything. The book, Catch and Kill, is a good read. I remember getting more and more angry at NBC as I read it. Afterwards I Googled to see what happend to the network culprits and was disppointed to see some bigger names still working there. Well, they aren't there anymore, finally transitioned out. And now Ronan Farrow has turned his Catch and Kill podcast into a documentary on HBO. I watched the first part tonight and found it pretty good. I am so happy that Farrow is able to evolve his book and podcast into film so more people will learn about what happened, and to learn about him. For anyone that has forgotten, Farrow won a Pullitzer for his #MeToo reporting in the New Yorker. He is so down to earth inspite of everything. I really like him a whole lot.
  17. I finally got back to this one. Glad that I read it. I hope Alan Hollinghurst. has more coming. I'm a fan.
  18. Journey with Arnel Pineda. https://youtu.be/LfNX_lteIWM?t=93 https://youtu.be/y9TfXFhvxxY?t=280
  19. Derek and Romaine, former Satellite radio hosts, offer cruises and adventures on land. Mostly LGBTQ events and some allies. My sense is it wouldn't be a setting for prancing WEHO queens. Just fun loving folks. I still miss their show but I don't miss satellite radio. https://www.dnrtravel.com/vacations/
  20. Early on Shapovalov twice hit shots out that should have been open court winners. And his ball toss. The announcers thought it was nerves. Disappointing to watch. The final will be interesting. All of Italy will be watching I expect.
  21. Federer won the French Open and then won Wimbledon in the same year, 2009. Nadal has also won both the same year. It is a rare thing to do. This year may be Djokovic's chance. But....................I will be rooting for Shapovalov tomorrow.
  22. Texas and Arkansas renew their rivalry this year. Used to be a famous annual rivalry. President Nixon attended the game during his term.
