Well said. It is a topic that should be discussed on a regular basis. It requires balance and mentorship to succeed in any field. This is a sad story. Unfortunately for this model, it happened publicly. The real challenge is that it is happening everywhere, right now, to someone. People need a support system to catch them when they fall.

Having a profile on ModelMayhem doesn't make you a model. Most of these guys are struggling model wannabes. And therefore, open to creative ideas about supplementing their income.

I understand but put yourself in their place, you're contacting several guys at the same time and I'm sure they get tired of folks asking for more pics. A frequent poster on here always requires skype to book someone and at the end he also asks (and allegedly gets) a discount... Long thread on the matter.
 
Btw as it was said on here all activities/professions have time wasters too and I'm not implying you're one of them either but how do they know you're for real if they go through this several times a day.

I wholeheartedly understand where one’s frustrations and skepticism stem from when making such a request to an escort and I don’t think the request is an unreasonable one but consider how many times we are contacted per day by providers who have no intention of booking and simply want to engage and then ghost. This makes up more than half of people who contact us.
 
I decline this request, not because I am a fraud (there are gentlemen on the forum who have met me and I would happily slide anyone the reference) but when I have 30 or so photos and 3 videos readily available for a client to review and they text me “pic?”’ or “send me a five finger whatever,” the answer is “absolutely not.” It’s not my responsibility to reassure someone of my credibility. It’s the client’s responsibility to be resourceful. And I mean this with all due respect, trust me. We have no way of confirming you are not an axe murderer or that you will be at the provided address, so why should we go out of our way?
 
And your argument can’t be “because there are a lot of fake ads.” My counter argument is “well, there are a lot of fake clients.” And here we are.
 
Edit: I’d like to reassert that I mean no harm, I think a healthy debate/conversation between client and provider are important..for perspective, if anything at all.

From speaking to various friends who hire, I feel that this statement remains very true.

When I hired, I only ever wanted ‘filet mignon’ and would pay the requisite price. 10-15 years ago, there were many handsome and athletic working guys that met my needs. But 5-10 years ago, it seems to me that quite a lot of handsome muscleboys started to work on an amateur/part-time/occasional basis; they offered lower rates and high quality service. I feel this trend put rates under downwards pressure.

According to your Daddy's review you met him in Indy where he is based. His rate was 350. I assume you got a multi hour discount for 500.

I see there’s a 1-star review... and 77 reviews total... so I open All Reviews.
I see another 1-star review by the same guy 3 weeks prior. That doesn’t make allot of sense so I look at the reviewer’s profile.
He has 2 posted reviews - both 1-stars of the same guy. I discount these 2 reviews and go back and scroll thru the remaining 75 reviews... they are all 5-star and span a long period of time.
The net net is that the 2 duplicated reviews don’t have any bearing on my decision in the context of the other factors.
(I didn’t VPN to look at any narrrative comments but if I were really concerned about someone I’d do that and also send a RM email to a reviewer.)
Of course any commentary on this forum or on the review site by someone known tells me allot more.

Most providers and I think clients prefer to txt.
For the provider, they are often responding from "wherever they are" which may be the gym, the grocery store, their day job, etc. and having that type of conversation may not be easy or possible.
There is also the fact that most people under 30/40 txt all day long, it's their default communication
Some providers say explicitly in their ad "no phone calls"
If talking is important to you, I would state that in a txt and see if your provider is willing to accommodate that
