Back in my college days, I found several articles about Thiamine as a good mosquito repellent. The botanical sources stated that mosquitos stay away from plants high in Thiamine. I took 200mg-400mg daily for a month an then visited my hometown on July 4th - height of mosquito season. My friends and I were sitting chatting at dusk, they were swatting skeeters right and left. I on the other hand was off limits to them.... They would fly in to about 8-12 inches of my body and fly away. We laughed about this until it was discovered that I was also reeking of a foul odor because of sweating while out in 100 degree weather. The extra Thiamine was not only coming out in urine, but every sweat gland on my body! Some of the plants high in Thiamine include: onions, broccoli, Brussels sprouts... I was a cute little onion back on that day!!

I may have changed my mind about close fitting clothes. I like 90s style loose fitting jeans. And I've always had the opinion that older men look a little silly in up to the minute fashion.

But a while ago, I got a made-to-measure suit from Indochino and I love it. The jacket has natural shoulders and sort of hugs my torso. The trousers are tailored to fit close in the butt and thighs. Fits me like a glove. The fabric is a nice soft merino wool. I love the way I feel in it.

Well, since you asked... I say go with what makes you feel good. If it fits and you feel good/look good, go for it. Others don't like or approve? Screw 'em! Just don't let those jeans crush your nuts!

I am afraid I don't have the 'genes' for skinny jeans... I would look like this (just add a bulge for my iphone!):

I was sick and very delirious in a semi conscious state. They were doing a lot of tests, turned out to be something very minor coupled with flu . I saw my two late uncles who seemed to be sitting in the chair in the hospital bed. They told me not to worry and that I had a long time here and would live to see my grandkids. At that time I didn't have kids and I was gay(still am, though on occasion am seeing women in a somewhat attractive light), so it was odd. It was almost like a two way conversation-once I got better never saw them again.

I don't know if it was the stuff they had me on and my state of semi-conscious, but at that time seemed very normal/real-as real as talking to someone next to you. I did end up having kids through scientific means-perhaps a coincidence? It wasn't a spooky experience, seemed completely normal at the time.

Who knows we are all born, then exist in this world and then are gone. I also saw my childhood dog in that experience comforting me-weird. Maybe it was my mind making stuff up-who knows? Never had that again.

I was staying at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans in January 2014. In the wee hours on the morning of the 14th my sleep became restless. At 17 minuets before 2:00 I awoke to a sudden chill accompanied by a draft in my room. I felt a touch down at my legs. There was a familiar presence in my room and I knew then that my 87 year old Aunt had passed away.

She had been sick for a while and was suffering from dementia and complications of a broken hip. She was in a hospital in Bossier City 300 plus miles away. Not long after 2:00 my phone rang, it was my cousin calling to inform me that our Aunt had died. I told him that I knew that it had happened at 17 minutes before the hour as she stopped by my hotel to let me know.

A few days later after the funeral, several of my cousins were talking about her and I related this experience that occurred. One cousin from Dallas related the exact same experience at precisely the same time had occurred to her. Another in Enid, Oklahoma and another from Cleveland each had the same experience, restless sleep, sudden chill, a draft, touch on the leg, and the feeling of a familiar presence.

My Aunt had no children and thus the nieces and nephews were her kids. She was a funny and vibrant person who was our surrogate parent. The family stories of her shenanigans are legendary. I miss her as much as my own mother. I’ve seldom related this story outside the family as some would dismiss such an experience.

I have nothing helpful to add.

But I will share a wry observation, triggered by the topic.

Because it was patronized by an older crowd, Twin Peaks (famous as the first gay bar with windows in an era when such bars were dark, minimally advertised, often basements) in the San Francisco Castro neighborhood was known as "the glass coffin." Ive never been inside. Decades ago, I once told my buds, as we walked by..." if you ever see me in there... start planning my funeral."

Still never been, but these days, I'm considering checking it out. The things 25-30 years can do to attitude and perspective .....

There are several potential triggers... could be any one of them.

The inability to sleep through the night without getting up to take a leak
First purchase of denture paste or powder
Recognizing the need to trim nose and/or ear hair more frequently than hair on any other body part.
Having joints that work better after a few hours' activity... or heat.
Lunching with an old friend and realizing a good portion of conversation was about medical ailments.
Increasingly frequent reactions to the world around you that can be categorized as judgements starting with "kids today....."
Rising from a chair, hearing a groan, looking around, and realizing your father's nowhere near.

My wife grew up listening to classical music, I didn't. So she introduced me to it and I learned a lot. One time before we were married, she put on an orchestral version of Wagner's Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan just as we began to make love. I had never heard it before and the sex was unbelievable. Long build up, rising tension, glorious climax, gentle resolution- I told her it was a musical orgasm. I still think of it that way.

After reading this thread, and recuperating from surgery for a few weeks recently, I signed up with Chaturbate. Over the last few weeks, I have met some nice guys (broadcasters, in Chaturbate terminology) and some not-so-nice. Today, I thought I was having a positive experience with a Russian guy and his friend who wanted me to go private show for 1000 tokens ($79.99) to watch them fuck each other... being horny, I thought why not. BIG MISTAKE! Once I was in the private show, the broadcaster wanted an additional 1000 tokens for his friend "mike". I said his initial request was 1000 for a private show... he said no that was for him in a private show... I thought why not, they are cute, huge cocks, especially "mike" who was a grower... A few seconds after sending the additional 1000 tokens - I was kicked out of the room. By the time I tried to locate his room, the room went off the Chaturbate grid, no room by the name existed. So I have written Chaturbate support to report that broadcaster. I expect a "buyer beware" answer, but I tried. Without losing any money, I discovered two other Russian broadcasters were pretending to have friends at their place who were supposedly unaware of the camera... while signed into their rooms anonymously, I discovered them bilking users of tokens so they could watch the broadcaster "seduce his friend". Akin to the old carnival come-on. (If anyone interested in who the said broadcaster is, PM me.)

Also, unless you tip a lot, and your user name is "grey" (more like black), expect rude and snide comments from the broadcasters (with few exceptions) if you communicate publicly. It is expected that you tip first, request things after... And unless your user name changes color, do not expect any response. Especially true of European broadcasters.

As I said, I met some nice guys. But overall, I have spent way too much on my credit card! "Lucy, you got some 'splainin to do" is coming up shortly when someone else in the house sees the credit card statement...

I don’t know if I am one of the “popular” kids around here, but I do have more "likes" than messages, for whatever that’s worth. For me, I think it was helpful to poke around these forums for awhile (several months as I recall) before I became a member or started asking questions—to get a feel for the place, to see what kind of things led to threads being shut down or people being placed on time-out, etc. When people took my questions on tangents, I mostly went along for the ride, and if people were overly sensitive or hostile, I tried not to take the bait and avoided get into pointless shouting matches via my keyboard. I don’t ask questions or comment as much as I used to, but I still check the forum regularly, and appreciate all the helpful information it provides. While we have not always agreed, I certainly appreciate your contributions, @Tarte Gogo, and think this thread is a very good idea.

*One other thought, if a newbie finds this forum valuable, he/she may consider making a donation to help keep this place running. I don’t know if that leads to more “popularity” or people taking a contributor’s questions more seriously, but I see this place as a rather unique little community, and I appreciate those who support it as they are able, as I try to do (will be sending in my annual contribution later today in fact).
