I stayed at that hotel several times.  It is right across from the beach and is just around the corner from the street called Sierra Campos, a street with some great and safe restaurants. 
The Marriott is an old hotel, but it is very safe. 
Although I did not bring to my room, garotos by the dozen, when I did it was only one at a time.  
The Marriott is not going to openly say that you can bring a hustler to your room.  It depends on how you do it.  
What I did, without any issue, is the following:
I was a guest at the hotel.  
If I previously met a garoto at a sauna, I had the garoto accompany me to the hotel elevator and then to my room.  Hotel personnel will not stop you and ask about the garoto.  
If I previously knew a garoto, I made arrangements for the garoto to show up at the hotel and wait in the waiting area where hotel guests often sit.  At our agreed meeting time, I went to the lobby and met the garoto and we either stopped at the bar or we went directly to the elevator and to my room.

However, you must be careful if you stay at the hotel.  Not because the hotel is bad or dangerous.  It is because there are many problem guys up and down the street who will not hesitate to rob someone if they see the person walking and is an obvious gringo or non-Brazilian.  Robberies do not happen every day, but often enough that you should not walk around with your cell phone showing or other items that might attract a thief.
You will have a great time in Rio if you are cautious and meet the right garotos.
