  1. I had a similar situation, but not in California, of inheriting a large house that I didn’t plan to visit much. My solution was to find a reputable local law firm with a probate and estates practice. They were used to dealing with empty properties when clients died. They not only arranged the insurance for me but also had local contractors to visit the property regularly and do any necessary landscaping, cleaning and repairs.
  2. And Lidl now has Arnold Schwarzenegger as a ‘brand ambassador’ for their power tools 😀
  3. I don’t know how you can say that! Bad weather certainly interferes with sexual activity when my partner and I want to enjoy ourselves au naturel or en plein air 😎
  4. Please note the date of that post - it was more than 5 years ago.
  5. FWIW I used to stay there for 1-2 weeks at a time and I always got a good discount (booking direct). It still surprises me how quickly travel has rebounded since the pandemic. I can live with the increase in the price of restaurant dinners etc, but I find hotel room rates have surged upwards to an astonishing degree. Both in the US and Europe, luxury hotels that used to charge $600/€500 a night pre-pandemic are now well into ‘four figure’ territory. Italian hotels in particular are cashing in - I enquired about a September stay in an hotel I’ve visited before, and “as a loyal client” was quoted €2300 a night for a sea-view room!
  6. I stayed several times at the Chamberlain in WeHo, but I’ve not visited since the pandemic. The hotel has several advantages: I liked the location very much; the rooms are large and quiet; a decent-sized rooftop pool; the staff were pleasant and efficient; and there’s a large garage which never charged me for visitor parking. As for the OP’s concern about scandal/being seen with various hot young men, it was never a problem for me. There are several gay men on the staff. Once the man on reception congratulated me on my date; another time, when I told the Garage that my visitor was going to extend his parking to stay overnight, the response was Have a great time.
  7. Very sad news. Thanks to @jeezifonly for starting this thread. I have fond and loving memories of Maui as it was. I met one boyfriend there (we actually met on the beach) and years later I took another boyfriend there on a vacation and we were invited on a wild boar hunt by some locals. I’ve read in the news yesterday that Lahaina has burnt to the ground. I know many of the buildings were on the National Historic Register, but is it realistic to think that they will be rebuilt in the same way? I don’t know how the insurance settlements and the NHR requirements will interact (let alone how many may be uninsured)?
  8. I’m not too bothered about the age of his pics…but has anyone met him recently? I would want assurance that he still had a handsome face and a bubble butt, as well as his body being in great physical shape. But then I’m not hesitant about leaving (or sending someone away) if the reality differs markedly from the publicity.
  9. Good for you @Archangel I have always trusted my instincts. IME when there’s hesitancy or drama about a future trip, it means the escort isn’t committed; problems can turn into last-minute schedule changes, and that can prove expensive.
  10. This is very well put. Just my observation but I wonder if this is why some airline cabin crew can escort successfully - they have developed and, over time refined, the necessary set of skills. I’ve known 3 men who combined these jobs and were well regarded escorts.
  11. Thanks @tsgarp I too had a date with him. It was more than 15 years ago in my case. IIRC he used to live in WeHo, not far the Chamberlain Hotel. He was energetic and uninhibited when he was young - now he must be in his 40s.
  12. @Unicorn, you know how to wound 😎 Starbucks?! The horror. Generally speaking, that is the most reviled chain of coffee stores in the UK. They’re seen as selling sugary drinks that have a scant relation to coffee. And in my view, their beans are over-roasted. There are a couple of major British chains of coffee places, but there are also many small independent coffee shops in various cities that serve excellent coffee.
  13. No. In the UK, it’s definitely for coffee (absolutely not “a cup of”). And it’s not for tea, unless you’re chatting up a maiden aunt or other elderly lady 🙂
  14. He looks great to me; I love a young jock who bottoms readily 😎 My guess is that @JayinHKNYC is simply saying that Jock Boy (as he styles himself) is much more of a bottom than truly versatile. I’m not surprised. I dated quite a few muscleboys who were very good bottoms, and almost all billed themselves as “versatile”. I think many such guys felt that using the term “bottom” reduced their masculine appeal. I made sure to express my appreciation of them being a good bottom - all that preparatory work, taking a good pounding, moving into different positions to please a top, swallowing loads etc.
  15. Not so. Under UK tax law, you can claim a deduction for donations to registered charities in other countries as well as those in the UK. But you do have to file the donations per country (and on enquiry, list the particular charities).
  16. I feel you might get more responses, and enquiries about availability, if you linked your post to your reviews and where you advertise. This would help potential clients to advise you better.
  17. OMG. I really hope this works well for you @Coolwave35 - please remember to prioritize your personal safety.
  18. Perhaps they’re busy looking for clients and working 😎
  19. It’s interesting to me how the usage of certain phrases changes over time. When I worked in finance (in the 20th century), the phrase meant that you had sufficient money to continue to live in the style you wanted whether you worked or not. Specifically you could say “fuck you” to your employer if something unwanted or undesirable was asked of you (as in my case, when I was up for partnership and it was suggested to me that I would afterwards help run the Chicago office).
  20. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but Yes I do consider it rude to ask for something that hasn’t been offered. I entirely agree about having clear plastic glasses for beverages outdoors (as years ago I had the experience of idiots bringing glass outside and broken glass ending up in the pool - and Yes the pool had to be drained to get all the shards out). But I don’t know how ‘entitled’ people feel nowadays. Would it be acceptable to ask not for ‘white wine’ but for a glass of ‘good white burgundy’ or ‘an excellent California Chardonnay’?
  21. So true. But I can make a stab at what it will cost the OP. I’m old now but years ago, I had boytoys: several but only one at a time. The biggest difference in cost is whether he lives with you or not. (And if he doesn’t, how will you know that he’s stopped working with others?) IME the stipend might run as little as $2000 a month assuming you pick up all the bills (groceries, restaurants, theatre, concerts, travel, gym membership, clothing, iPhone, weekend trips, overseas vacations etc). The total costs overall for me might have run as high as $10-12000 a month. It’s for the OP to decide what exclusivity he requires, how often he wants companionship etc and it’s a matter of negotiation between him and the working guy. FWIW I was always very open and direct (about what I enjoyed and expected from the young man) from the very start so that misunderstandings were avoided.
  22. Thank you @Coolwave35 for relating this. I always enjoy posts that begin with “I took a boy to Mexico…” 😎
  23. Visitors to London and the UK shouldn’t get too excited. Both the 60+ card and the Freedom Pass are only available if your principal residence is in London. 😎
  24. United Kingdom and parts of Spain. In the UK, it’s after age of 65 generally (but there are some variations). The exact benefit varies between the regions/cities. For instance, in London residents aged 66 qualify for a “Freedom pass” (a photo ID card) which allows free use of all of the Tube and bus network all day (after the morning rush-hour). There’s a similar card which allows use of the National train network with a 33% discount. In the Balearic Islands, there was a similar system for the aged using the island buses. This year, however, it’s been extended from just the elderly to all local residents. It’s an experiment to discourage car-usage.
  25. That’s why, once I’d found a nice muscleboy-bottom, I’d always prioritise the man who was ‘eager-to-please’. For me, that was the best indicator of good performance.
