There are only 3 big chorus scenes, and most often, designs for it make all the sets big enough for that, and all the sotto voce and intimate passioné get dwarfed. There were lots of set changes in the Bayrische production, but they ultimately made, for me at least, relationships and the peril of the times more real, I found. OMG thank you for this! Their chemistry is undeniable, even though his work ethic doesn’t quite embrace the same credo “first, cancel” as does she. And I doubt she’d have gotten through the premiere without him beside her…across the stage… Did you see the Chenier? Fab. They were both in great Italianate verismo voice despite the Bavarian roots. And the prod finally made sense of all the intimate exchanges that get lost on too-big stages. I’ve sat through several Walkures, Tannhausers and Parsifals, but only ONE full Tristan, so I’m thrilled to have musical excellence I can pause at will.

Don’t we all go through shifts in our tastes over time? Not speaking about relationships and friends, but the more transient pleasures. I think if you had a “type” and never had a bad experience with that type, and limited experience with any other type, you might not change. “Only with facial hair, never taller than me, blah blah…” But, most of us have broader tastes (through experimenting) provided we haven’t remained in one location for life, nor been otherwise sheltered by location or cultural influence. Through work, I have been lucky in my life to be around men of all races, ages and types, from all over the world - some of them stunning in talent, appearance and charisma, and I can’t say that any personal encounter wanted to make me rule out any “type”. Right here, are all sorts of men and various expressions of particular attractions, and I often learn from the way they’re discussed. If a type catches my eye, it’s more likely the person wearing the type. OK, fine. My type is beercan. 🤭

Back in the Bronze Age I had a girlfriend. My obvious lack of interest in going down should have been a clue to her, or at least for me, that I needed close encounters with a different crotch… I tried to be able to enjoy eating at the Y. I simply couldn’t! The smell and taste were not a match for me at the time, and that was then, etc - well, now I eat both ass and anchovies. Separately. Always. There are some very appealing ftm guys out there these days and I would hate if my reaction would be either insulting or limiting to mutual enjoyment. Once transitioned, does the shift in hormones change (soften…) the overall strength of scent/flavor of the average puss? I’m more fascinated by the topography than ever, as I have developed an understanding of other interior… designs…

Re FLEABAG- I think it’s done. The arc has played out with a satisfying ending for most, and especially for PWB. I too love Mrs Maisel, but don’t feel I’ve been left hanging off a cliff like OZARK and DEAD TO ME. I’d watch Maisel again, but am really liking HACKS and its less nostalgic take on women in comedy. I got into Hulu THE GREAT and would watch that again. BRIDGERTON, probably not. Seriously, I’m decades behind most TV viewers. I hear THE SOPRANOS is supposed to be good, and am thinking of trying that.
