foxy got a reaction from Cooper in Taylor Swift at MAD Museum
For any Taylor Swift fans there’s a nice exhibit of some of her costumes at the Museum of Art & Design at Columbus Circle. The restaurant Robert on the top floor is recommended. Great views of the park and the food is good.

foxy got a reaction from Walt in I’m getting tired of drag queens.
My post about drag queens has been taken much more seriously than I intended. As a bit of an explanation the other night I was looking for a movie to watch on the various streaming services I subscribe to. It seemed every movie I found with gay characters, drag queens seemed a big part of the story. So I thought as I scrolled “I’m getting so tired of drag queens”. That’s it folks. Nothing more, nothing less.

foxy got a reaction from BananaBagel in Radio City Christmas Spectacular
You get a lot of bang for your Christmas buck. The Rockettes are worth the price of admission alone. You even get live camels and sheep at the nativity finale. What more could you want?

foxy got a reaction from SouthOfTheBorder in Merrily We Roll Along
Today I got a ticket for Merrily We Roll Along, row Q, center orchestra for a Wednesday matinee. It was $209. Not too bad. Looking forward to seeing it. I’ve seen Jonathan Groff in a number of plays, most recently in Little Shop of Horrors.
But I’ve also seen Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, How To Succeed In Busuness, The Cripple of Iriishmaan and The Lifespan of a Fact. Considering he’s worth a staggering fortune thanks to the Harry Potter movies he could certainly live a life of luxury never having to work again. Yet he picks challenging projects and has been really, really good in all of them.

foxy got a reaction from + Charlie in Any idea why opera companies won't hire counter-tenors?
True but few opera singers take their clothes off which is probably a good thing.

foxy got a reaction from spidir in The most beautiful Christmas Tree in the world
Is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. Surrounded by what seems like hundreds of 18th century Italian figures. I’ve seen it many times and always discover something new.

foxy got a reaction from Marc in Calif in Would you buy a $300,000 car?
So aside from shopping at Target, what exactly does a $300,000 car do that my 10 year old Honda can’t do? One friend said that’s it’s a “better car”. But what does that mean? Since it doesn’t seem to impress people I’m lost as to why people spend that much money just to get from point A to B? Of course I don’t understand expensive wrist watches either. Obviously I’m not the target (ha ha) audience.

foxy got a reaction from Hotmenloved in Ruth Asawa at the Whitney Museum
Known mostly for her hanging wire sculptures, this new show at the Whitney has many of her drawings, water colors, prints and folded paper and is quite wonderful. I always enjoy the views from the museum which were especially nice on this beautiful fall day. That called for a walk up the High Line to the Hudson Yards. The ill fated Vessel has now become a Christmas decoration.

foxy got a reaction from Marc in Calif in New European Wing at the Met
Five years of renovation and 30,000 square feet of skylights has made the display of European paintings especially beautiful. New wall colors and some new seating too. Some juxtaposition of different periods. Picssso next to El Greco for one example. I also like the combination of actual objects with the paintings.
