  1. Two Dutch brothers who've been playing together since they were children. https://youtu.be/2Bygq-SIUqA?si=1uN5SbkH0jyLwZzM
  2. It’s a big and quite wonderful show of terrific artists finally getting some recognition.
  3. For those interested, there’s a show at the DC Moore Gallery of male nudes by Paul Cadmus on view only until March 16. DC Moore Gallery WWW.DCMOOREGALLERY.COM DC Moore Gallery
  4. Yes on the 7th floor. There’s more on the walls that I’ve left out. Right now the Whitney is getting ready for the Biennial opening March 20.
  5. Paul Cadmus and Jared French were lovers and created art from the late 1930’s through the early 1950’s. They worked primarily in their studios in New York spending summers on the beaches of Fire Island, Provincetown and Nantucket.
  6. Based on a book I’ve never read, a movie I’ve never seen and an actor, Grant Guston in a tv series I’ve never watched (The Flash) I bought a ticket for a preview of the Broadway show on a whim. And a good whim it was. Pretty amazing circus acts and a life size elephant puppet made for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon. IMG_5604.mov
  7. Beautiful cultural museum in Palm Springs definitely worth a visit.
  8. No rattlesnakes I’m happy to say
  9. Beautiful 80 degree weather called for nice hiking at the Indian Canyons today. A nice way to spend a winter day.
  10. Today I visited Sunnylands the Walter Annbenberg house and gardens in Rancho Mirage. Just about every famous world politician and movie star visited at one point. It still hosts important gatherings
  11. If anyone is interested you can scroll back and read our old reviews. They were really good if I say so myself. We worked pretty hard on them. We had to do a lot of research. Not easy but we enjoyed our jobs. We didn’t get any freebies btw.
  12. Palm Springs is still a very cool town especially in winter. The art museum is a nice place to spend a few hours. Always fun to say “hi” to Marylin.
  13. For any Taylor Swift fans there’s a nice exhibit of some of her costumes at the Museum of Art & Design at Columbus Circle. The restaurant Robert on the top floor is recommended. Great views of the park and the food is good. madmuseum.org

    UNWRITTEN RULES....

Well top of my unwritten rule is mutual respect.
  15. You get a lot of bang for your Christmas buck. The Rockettes are worth the price of admission alone. You even get live camels and sheep at the nativity finale. What more could you want? IMG_5328.mov IMG_5331.mov IMG_5332.mov
  16. The first show of a a contemporary African American portrait painter of Black subjects at the Frick. The show is on till January 7, 2024. https://www.frick.org
  17. Five years of renovation and 30,000 square feet of skylights has made the display of European paintings especially beautiful. New wall colors and some new seating too. Some juxtaposition of different periods. Picssso next to El Greco for one example. I also like the combination of actual objects with the paintings.
  18. Is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. Surrounded by what seems like hundreds of 18th century Italian figures. I’ve seen it many times and always discover something new.
  19. I love watching this number. I wonder of there's an all male version? https://youtu.be/hRdjRDCZBwE?si=YSXww6PFYUeTATJj
  20. Today I saw Merrily We Roll Along. I know there’s already a post about the show, which is very good. But this is what happened at the end. It’s that time of year when performers raise money for Broadway Cares. Today Daniel Radcliffe ran an auction raising $1,500 hundred. He was fun to watch with all his enthusiasm. It was something the cast had autographed. IMG_5209.mov
  21. The park out in the Hudson River is called The Little Island littleisland.org
  22. Known mostly for her hanging wire sculptures, this new show at the Whitney has many of her drawings, water colors, prints and folded paper and is quite wonderful. I always enjoy the views from the museum which were especially nice on this beautiful fall day. That called for a walk up the High Line to the Hudson Yards. The ill fated Vessel has now become a Christmas decoration.
  23. For a fun time on Broadway & Juliet certainly delivers. A large cast of pretty, talented performers singing, dancing, hanging from the rafters. Throw in exploding confetti, blazing light shows, bubbles, smoke, spinning sets, you name it. Never a dull moment. And it has a message. Plus a really cute Romeo. IMG_5122.mov
