My doctor stuck his finger up my ass last week and poked around, but he said the prostate didn't feel abnormal to him (he is gay, so he has felt his share of normal prostates). But he still wants me to have various tests to find out what has been causing some recent discomfort in my abdomen.

Between the soy and scallions, you must have a tough time with Chinese food!

Yup! Beano tablets take away some of the issues I have with soy, but onions/scallions still set me off. I can order food prepared without onions or scallions, though.

I really hate onions.  In any form.  You know how some people have a gene that makes cilantro taste different to them?  I must have that with onions because there’s no way in HELL they taste the same to me as they do to people who like or even tolerate them.  But my point is, it’s an incredibly inconvenient food aversion to have since onions seem to sneak their way into the majority of dishes.
And if I have this issue with onions, I can’t even imagine what it must be like to be deathly allergic to peanuts, or highly intolerant to gluten, or have an any medical reaction to a very ubiquitous and often hidden food.
Who of you who have these allergies/intolerances/aversions?  Any stories of a time it was particularly inconvenient or worse?

Well said. As with SSRIs, I think the market will be bursting with better versions in a few years.
 
Interesting point on bariatric surgeon and negative articles. It will be interesting to see where that field goes now that non-invasive alternatives are available. As for the negative articles, I wonder how many are coming from insurance industry shills as well.

Because I eat out 1-2 times a day, I’m losing about a pound a week. That’s fine with me. The weight loss may slow down further.

Gosh, I didn't think anyone would notice! Yes, I went to Asia on 12/24/23 and stayed three weeks. On return, the jet lag has been pretty nasty.
And to think I was in the same hotel with @SouthOfTheBorder! Wasn't it great? I call it the Gay Meridien as New Year's weekend the place seemed almost entirely gay.

Yes, definitely keep a lookout for anything new or different, whether it's a mole or not.  Red or pink, pearlescent spots with raised edges can also be skin cancer, although a less aggressive form than melanoma. Consider seeing a derm for an annual full body skin check. I had mine today. 

I wonder what gay culture around sex would look like if men could get pregnant from bottoming. I guess it would be like the straight community, with tops seeking would casual sex more often than bottoms. The difference, of course, would be that one could choose whether to be a top or bottom. In this scenario, the tops would be the best looking men because their partners would be willing to risk pregnancy to bottom for them.
