Lotus-eater reacted to jmichaeliii in Providers not responding to inquiries
I have found the rate question has ended communication a few times, which makes no sense. It's a waste of both sides time if the budget doesn't work.

Lotus-eater reacted to d.anders in Providers not responding to inquiries
This is a hit-or-miss business. Very few of these guys are legit, so they don't treat the customer in a professional manner. It's not a realistic expectation. Most of these guys want instant appointments (cash). They don't want to answer questions, or have anything to do with what they call "time wasters." For many, it's just another version of rentmen.com.
I always ask questions, but many don't respond. I've learned to move on quickly. I've learned not to fall in love with a photograph. I'm willing to pay for good service, but good service is difficult to find, sometimes. When you find it, it's a good thing to keep. But it is a needle in a haystack. Good luck.

You may get a better response rate if you change the phrasing of your questions. For example:
"Hello, I am looking for a massage on a table with massage lotion (not oil). I am a big guy at over 6ft tall and 300 pounds. Do you have the table and lotion to accommodate a man of my size?"
See what I did? It's just one question he can answer "yes" to without back and forth.

Hi.
So is it unreasonable to expect questions to be answered when I contact a masseur?
So most people I find on rentmasseur do not have other details.
I contact and ask a set of questions.
Can you tell me about your massage?
Table or bed? Lotion or oil?
Are you ok with heavy guys and I list my height and weight.
I usually get responses that will not answer anything and just send me their rate and time period and answer maybe 1 question.
I get that providers are busy and maybe can't answer now that is fine. But just have a comment that says with a client touch base later or anything.
I am not sure why people will not answer basic questions if you fail to provide any form of info on your ad. Like I am not even asking grey area questions just basic info.

Lotus-eater reacted to Mattydeuce in MattyDeuce -Acc’t Hacked
Hello all, this is Matthew, the owner of this profile .. I was, indeed, hacked! It's absolutely embarrassing the way this person was conducting themselves and I hate one of you lost money, but glad it was only one and it was only $50. Thank you so much to my loyal clients that reached out to let me know about this!! I was not in New York (been at my home in Charlotte, NC since returning from my last trip to Chicago in early March), and they changed the phone number and email - so I wasn't getting any notifications. The support on rent masseur is not great, so I don't understand how this happened! But I was able to recover control and change the password. I've been in the industry over 8 years now and take pride in my work! Many clients all over the country can attest to this, and I always conduct myself in a professional way! I have not ever required a deposit to see me, my work speaks for itself when you experience my session!! I do have the Venmo name they used and will be reporting it. To the gentleman that unfortunately got scammed by this dead beat - I will gladly credit you this as a discount should we ever meet!
These are the two profiles I have, and it's the same NC phone number on both

The inflation on these masseur rates is worse than the tip inflation that we are seeing at stores. Even a couple of years ago, the best escorts weren't charging these rates. Even though I can certainly afford $400, just on principle I wouldn't pay that. These guys need to come back down into reality

I haven’t seen him since before the pandemic but I had a nice experience with Ken. Decent therapeutic massage on a table in nice clean apartment, nice lightly sensual elements. Left happy.

Just fyi… “Mark” has used so many different guys’ pics in his profile who knows who you’ll get! Lol. And the guys never even look alike. This current one has dark features and an olive skin tone and the last guy he used was dirty blonde with fair skin 🤥
I was seriously considering hiring him and so glad my spidey senses told me not to!

good experience with him. Good looking guy and good body. Tries very hard to very hard to do a good massage but not his optimal talent. Good looking and open to anything! Recommended if you were looking for more than a massage.

Lotus-eater reacted to + DrownedBoy in See me always, or see me never again
That's not been my experience, and I doubt if any rational, profit-motivated provider would do that.
However, I never say "no." I say, "I'm out of town" or "I can't, but maybe next time."
I've had travelling providers text me every time they're in town, even if I haven't hired them yet, but only shown an interest. One guy came to Chicago 4 times before our schedules meshed. It turned out to be worth waiting for.

Lotus-eater reacted to Lookin in Is skimpflation here to stay? Skimping out on services.
Fifty 😳 years ago , I worked on a number of consumer product brands that sold in the millions of units annually. We tried to keep the prices steady but, when the cost of an ingredient went up even a little, it could take a hundred grand off the bottom line. When that happened, we had four choices:
Absorb the loss, which was easier then since executive compensation wasn't as closely tied to stock price (profitability) as it is today. If we expected costs to go down again, we could hold on for better days ahead.
Raise the price and hope we didn't lose too many customers. We had lots of data and could predict volume loss pretty well.
Reduce the amount of product. 'Shrinkflation' wasn't a word then, but that's what it was. It was more difficult than simply raising the price, but it was a way to lower ingredient costs, packaging costs and shipping costs all at once.
Reformulate the product, using cheaper ingredients. That was a riskier proposition, although we did extensive consumer testing to ensure there wasn't a statistical difference in consumer preference. What that can lead to is a gradual deterioration in product quality over the course of many years of cheapening the product. There are products today that bear only a slight resemblance to the same brands a decade or two ago. Looking at an ingredient list these days often requires a degree in chemistry. 👨🔬
The choices these days are pretty similar to the choices we had a half-century ago, except that companies are much less tolerant of any cost increases that would lead to a miss on quarterly earnings, and the resulting hit to the stock price.
It's also my opinion that customers have become more accepting of price increases, smaller portions, and lower quality. I wouldn't want to manage a consumer brand these days. Nor do I continue to buy products that have been degraded over the years. That's led me away from many packaged food products and back to unprocessed foods, like beets and carrots.
As long as I don't eat too many.

Lotus-eater reacted to + KensingtonHomo in Discount for in shape, good-looking and younger clients?
Girl, it would help if you spent more time with gay guys. Maybe you'd learn how to read and throw shade because this is weak tea.
In your sad attempt to shade me, you have to go back in time to my twink days - imagine I was not desirable (rather than the reality that I was beating them off with a stick because I was very prudish due to HIV) - and then further ignore the reality that a significant percentage of younger men (20s to early 30s) are attracted to older men, hence all the "daddy" discourse and porn.
-
Lotus-eater reacted to + KensingtonHomo in Discount for in shape, good-looking and younger clients?
JFC, you sound like Tucker Carlson. There is no such thing as "Lesbian Equality Theory." If you're referring to Queer Theory, that also has nothing to do with "pretending we're all the same."
Men are not "wired" in one particular way. This is you buying into a misogynistic lie propagated by patriarchal social norms that refer to what makes women sexually desirable, e.g., hip-to-breast ratio, relative youth, body fat distribution, etc. To the extent men are attracted to women based on those criteria, it's because they appear fertile and capable of carrying a pregnancy to term. There is no correlation for same-sex/gender desire. You're not attracted to a twunk because he's likely to become pregnant and have a viable pregnancy. This is like anti-trans people claiming we're attracted to chromosomes.

Lotus-eater reacted to JamesB in How do you feel about providers wearing jewelry ?
I'm fine with providers wearing jewelry as long as it doesn't disrupt their work. However, if I can feel a ring on their finger during a massage or HJ, I would politely request they remove it for my comfort.

Lotus-eater reacted to Monarchy79 in Shorted time from masseurs you like...
Suggested Solution:
Book 60 minute sessions moving forward.
The rate will now be a direct match with the service.

Lotus-eater reacted to CuriousGuy714 in Shorted time from masseurs you like...
For this very reason, I never schedule 90-minute sessions. You pay massage therapists for their time, so if they short you, you should compensate accordingly. By using the word “relationship” a couple of times in your post, it also sounds like you’ve grown attached to your favorites. At the end of the day though, you’re just a client to them. 90 percent of the masseurs in LA overcharge anyway, so take your hard-earned cash elsewhere if they begin to cut your appointment times short. If you absolutely can’t live without their massage, then bring it up and they should understand. If not, move on!
Again, so many take advantage of the service they’re providing and are getting paid $150+ an hour for just a mediocre massage. I know everyone in LA seems to be millionaires but these guys are making the same per hour as someone on a $300K+ annual salary. For that kind of money, their hands shouldn’t be coming off your body until the 90-min mark.

Lotus-eater reacted to Swazca in Comforting Massage by David in LA
So I tried him out on Saturday. Massage was mediocre and all he did was rub the same area over and over with his forearm. 60-min massage and he started at 10 after the hour and finished at 45 after the hour for a total of 35 mins of actual work. Then a simple rub and tug. I paid $220 -- $200 and $20 tip as I still tip even if the service is trash.
Interestingly enough he blocked me on Rentmasseur following the service before I could leave a rating on there. So here we are.

1.- Checking his phone during the massage.
2.- Up sales during the massage. I’m ok with offering extras BUT do it during the set up stage or before the massage starts. Not during it!.
3.- Bad breath / body odor or unkept studio / bathroom.
4.- Shortening the session time.
5.- Background music with ads.
6.- Talking non stop.

Checking their cell phone
only using one hand
lazily rubbing the same one area
being too chatty
not keeping their hygiene in check
bragging about how good they are and how lucky you are to have experienced their hands 😐
also as much as I love animals, having your dog or cat in the room during the session is pretty annoying
Their partner being in the next room watching tv or talking on the phone loudly or making a bunch of noise in the kitchen
