The provider in question 100% does follow this forum. I personally had a fantastic time with him, but that doesn’t negate Kensington’s bad experience. My story is somewhat similar- my parents were not at all interested in opera, but my father loved musical theatre and my mother enjoys it. When I started studying singing (with a goal of pursuing musical theatre), I was inherently exposed to opera and fell in love!

I briefly met him in January. Very, very handsome man and was clean shaven at the time. He missed his alarm for our first scheduled meeting, and he was extremely apologetic so I gave him another shot. He is sexy and seems genuinely nice (and I wouldn’t at all describe him as femme), but he “felt sick” a few minutes into our session. He ended the session and refused to accept the full fee. When I messaged him later, he said that it had been stomach issues and suggested I brush my teeth before our next meeting… since our appointment was in the early evening, I had not thought of carrying a toothbrush around with me all day, but I did learn something from him! Anyway, to sum it up he is a hot and real guy, but make sure to brush your teeth immediately prior to meeting him. I likely wouldn’t repeat because I could gauge from that incident that we had no chemistry.

Exactly, they have a right to quote any fee they want, just like we have a right to conclude that it’s ridiculous and stop the conversation. I know what the median range in NYC is and will simply not engage with anyone who quotes a rate significantly higher than that.

Going with the theme of the thread, the facts-only lens indicates a large exaggeration; the emotional impact lens indicates a slight exaggeration.

I know EXACTLY why my organization supports this candidate, and why so many others do as well. In this particular situation, there was no need to support ANY candidate since doing so alienates a large number of its members and displays an insensitivity to a people without whom the organization would likely not even exist. ETA: A slightly exaggerated comparison would be the NAACP endorsing a former KKK member. This former KKK member might claim not to be racist and otherwise have policies that align perfectly with the NAACP’s values, but it doesn’t undo the past.

I totally agree! For context, my original post had nothing to do with a bias in media- I was upset because an organization I belong to is endorsing a political candidate who makes me feel unsafe. I then got even more upset when I received an email from the organization stating that it was the first time in their over a century of existence endorsing ANY candidate for this position. While of course the media shapes my perception of this candidate (and leads others to strongly support them), it is a fact that the organization is endorsing for the first time in its long history.
