first - there is a big difference between Ft Lauderdale & Miami.  Most of the guys on RM list under both cities, but they really won’t travel between the two cities unless you’re paying a premium - and some just won’t travel at all.  I-95 connecting Miami & Ft Lauderdale has some of the worst traffic in the country.  I’d decide where you’ll be staying first and then focus on guys in that city.  It can be difficult to figure out who is really based on Ft L & who is in Miami.

Miami tends to have more of the providers that travel internationally & more expensive.  Ft Lauderdale tends to have more providers that cater to a mature clientele.  Both cities have extensive choices and some of the best.

SouthOfTheBorder reacted to + sniper in From Nike to B&BW - 'organized retail thieves' hitting the stores
I do think the current era is very quantifiably different in that median income and median housing costs have pretty much decoupled. This board skews older and has already climbed the ladder.  But rents havs climbed far beyond what people making average money can pay and still do things like save. Whether that's due to houseflippers, AirBNB, or venture capital is another question.
But I look at what my nieces and nephews are making now vs when I was starting out. Their pay is less than double and rents for equivalent housing is well over triple. And they have a higher loan burden than I did. We collectively pulled up the ladder behind us, consciously or not.
As for these smash and grabs, I will say I work in insurance and while burglary is up it's still not that high as a percentage of claims on a countrywide basis.  I think it's a very localized phenomenon that gets more publicity because everyone has a camera and the ability to broadcast now. Items being locked up is partly so the store doesn't have to pay a couple of security guards. Every business is reducing headcount and if these stores were staffed like they were 25 years ago that alone would deter a lot of petty theft. Crimes are crimes of opportunity.
SF is an outlier because it's a small area that the wealthy really just completely took over and the surrounding areas are just as wealthy so the poor couldn't just shuffle over a bit

SouthOfTheBorder got a reaction from pubic_assistance in Nonsmoker? Is smoking (tobacco) still a thing nowadays?
people do lots of things that aren’t logical, aren’t good for them & known to cause health problems. - terrible diets/obesity, crystal meth & other drugs, unprotected sex & the list goes on.
I get smoking can be annoying for a non-smoker
interesting to note that in Japan & Spain they smoke like chimneys. Those two countries also have the longest average life-spans in the world.  Of course smoking is bad for health - yet, it sure looks like a diet with real food & much less additives, preservatives & junk food has more to do with living a longer & healthier life than not smoking.
being in a casino doesn’t exactly make sense either - the house always wins, eventually

the thing with making provider appointments weeks in advance is the very high-probability of cancellations.  Appointments w providers typically aren’t given same priority as doctor/dentist/attorney appointments- things that have to get done.  Provider appointments are entirely elective & it’s the first thing cancelled when travel plans change, family commitments come-up, job requirements, unforeseen emergencies or the time just becomes inconvenient. Many clients don’t have long-term relationships w the providers so they will cancel without the same courtesies they give to doctors/dentists/lawyers, etc  it’s just someone they don’t know - not all of course, but many.
To each their own - I just don’t like to waste anyone’s time, including mine until I know nothing will get in the way either same day or day before.  I really can’t plan weeks ahead on being horny at a specific day & time, nor do I know my body will cooperate either.
Plus, when making same day or day before - the provider knows you’re more likely serious. Thats just the way it works.
Scheduling travel with a provider for several days or maybe booking a weekend would be the only time I’d contact weeks in advance.

but, this is the strip-club business model, gay or straight no matter where located.  they are selling a fantasy of sex, not actual sex.  they all know they will get shut down asap if any real sex happens.
I think the best that could happen is hiring one of the guys & going elsewhere.  not worth it when there are dozens of provider options online without the work & expense.

SouthOfTheBorder got a reaction from Norwaydude74 in Barcelona - Sauna Thermas - It only got better!
    some Thermas tips
    1. go early - before it gets crowded.  Thermas is big and spread across 3 floors - it can be disorienting to arrive when filed with providers & clients. Plus - it’s competitive & the locals/regulars will always go for their favorites who are usually the most in-demand. Arriving when it’s crowded puts you at a disadvantage. I like to arrive at opening about 3p and watch as providers/ clients arrive.
    2. get familiar with the layout - because it is confusing.  I’d recommend a complete walk-through of the entire place at least once to take note of spa facilities & bar (first floor), all showers (first & second floors).  And the one private bathroom on first floor with a douche - the key to that bathroom is at reception and depending on the attendant, they may require you buy an attachment or if you have your own, then a tip to get the key.  Return the key asap as there may be others waiting.
    3. there will always be guys hanging around the reception area & watching the clients locker room.  the game is to snag clients in that area & before they can see the other providers.  don’t fall for it.
    4. like anywhere else - be cautious if anyone offers you anything to ingest. last time I was there, a provider offered candy between sessions - upon inspection it was potent edible marijuana. there are a couple guys there routinely selling things - I’d avoid them & whatever they have.  they are obvious & likely will make an approach at some point.
    5. the free cabins are fine for 30 minutes & the staff cleans continuously- but that doesn’t mean you’ll always get a fresh cabin.  If you want to make sure it’s clean - then private rooms. Again - getting there early ensures access to private rooms - when it’s crowded you may wait and sometimes they don’t open up at all.
    6. you dont need ID to get in - leave passports & valuables in your hotel safe.  I carry a set amount of cash, one credit card & phone.  I don’t leave those items in the locker - I carry them with me in a small pack at all times.  you need cash for the guys - everything else can be on credit card.
    7. bring your own condoms & lube.  the condoms provided are the most basic & the lube is almost nonexistent.  the guys appreciate good quality condoms & it makes a big difference.  I like to bring my own antibacterial soap along too - just to be extra careful between sessions.  availability of soap in the showers is not a sure thing.
    8. if smoking bothers you - avoid the area on the second floor where smokers congregate.  for people who smoke, it’s ideal place to engage the guys in a more relaxed environment.
    9. don’t be afraid to say no.  you will be approached many times by guys who may not be your type.  there’s not pressure per se, but they are direct and don’t want to waste time.  they are used to no & it’s just part of the environment.  polite & firm gets the message across.

    10. you will pay for everything at the end & check your final bill carefully.  if buying drinks for providers, make sure you are clear at that time what you’re offering. an offer for a drink can easily turn into a full meal - and that’s fine if that is what you’re offering.  if spending a few hours there, the charges can add up quickly.
    11. don’t be afraid to tell the provider exactly what you want - they’re professionals and have seen it all, several times.  no reason to be embarrassed.  If there is a language barrier - use google translate or show them a video of the type of scene you want. a video is easiest way to get the clear message across & I’ve seen several clients do it.

I’m really happy to be early 60s.
I think men of our generation got to experience so much.  It was fun when gay bars/clubs used to be more subversive & underground.  We appreciate the freedoms we have now because we know what it was like before. We appreciate our good health because we saw so many whose lives were cut short by AIDs/HIV epidemic.
And most of all - we knew how to socialize in real life without the constant distractions of phones & toxic social media.  It was a time when having a friend really meant something - not the hundreds of “friends” people have on FB.
When I find myself in environments with much younger people, I often wonder if I’d like to be 30ish again - the answer is NO.

For those in search of a real massage & more by handsome masculine guys in Bangkok - Arena is the place for you.
Upon entering, you will be greeted by the lineup from which to choose. It can feel pressured the first time, but doesn't need to be that way.  You can take a seat, chat with the manager who speaks English and weigh the options.
the guys are working out in a basic gym setup that looks a little like a prison yard.  Just the right amount of dirty & sexy.
The rooms are private & with showers.
After 5 visits - highly recommend. They deliver.  Walkable from most hotels near Silom.

SouthOfTheBorder got a reaction from DWnyc in Do Little Lies Matter When Dealing with a Provider?
in sexual context - “age-shaving” and dick size exaggeration now seems normalized among providers & app people.   if it’s not a wildly off-base, then probably ok.
if I know someone is lying outside of those two things - then it just creeps me out & I don’t want to be around that person.
I don’t really need to know a lot about the providers personal story. the established guys I know keep it relatively focused & don’t really go there. so, if there’s an obvious lie involved, I’d question why that’s even a thing.  if it’s an ongoing relationship, then that’s different

FYI - the OnlyFans creator being discussed is SantanaXXL.  He is a very successful OF creator in terms of likes, subscribers & income generated. OF “likes” can only be made by subscribers which is an indicator of subscribers/income.  He’s so successful that he maintains a separate site that sells various merchandise - very few OF creators generate enough interest for merchandise sales.
While his audience may not be the people here - he has a huge audience that supports him.  He routinely films with very popular creators that do fit with more traditional ideas of male beauty & sexy - he doesn’t seem to have any problem getting willing collaborators.  Obviously they know the upside of appearing with him and/or there is an attraction. btw - he has 788,000 followers on Twitter
I tend to have far more respect for anyone that manages to succeed while overcoming societal expectations, discrimination, judgment through their own drive, ambition & despite all the odds.  I can only imagine how many times this guy was told he couldn’t do exactly what he did.
