Supercuts 2x month: total monthly cost ~$50.00.

Back in the 80's when it was a lot of money for a haircut, especially in a small town, I paid $50.00 to a woman who was the local "go to" for all the movers and shakers. I did look good, but couldn't stand the idea of paying $50.00 every month or so for a haircut.

$8 per cut. All the military clients are a bonus. My wife wonders why I drive 25min away for a haircut when her salon has male clients too. Sorry, $60-80 for a haircut is insane to me even though hers are $100-150 depending on what's being done.

That's what I pay although it's only every 3 months. Here in the big city, that's the standard rate at any decent salon. As for Hollande..

She goes every 3-4 weeks, just like me. Yes, it's a standard rate. The joy of living in an expensive market.

I've been going to the same guy for about 19 years, ever since he was 18. When he was at the salon, it was $15.

When he got his own shop, it was $7 ($3 tip).

Two years ago, he raised it to $10, and $7 for seniors ("If you're willing to admit you're that old...")

He even came to my rehab hospital when I was WAY overdue (about two months) for a haircut.

Nothing... I do it myself

As do I! Once every 10+ days. Prior to that it was 20 bananas with tip and the young lady would come to the house to do it. When I went south I never found a barber so I started doing it myself... Piece of cake... Well, at least when one does not have much with to work with that is! ;)

I have a package deal. My dog sitter is a barber and a pet groomer. I pay $200/ month for 3 dogs, a cat, and me. I get my haircut, a mani & pedi, and waxed/trimmed in all the right places - so do the the pups and Gato. The convenience alone is a big win. Plus there is something to be said for someone who can trim your pubes and goatee while updating you on the latest town gossip.

$15 + $5 tip once a month... traditional barbershop, trims eyebrows uses straight razor on the back of my neck. With every 10 haircuts, you get 1 for free.

Hollande is a typical inept hypocritical socialist and he will be out of power shortly. It is even more pathetic that a government spokesman tried to defend this frivolous spending. Someone should send the prick a Flowbee as a going away present. His hair couldn't look any worse than it does now.

I go to Astor Hair to see Anthony, who's been cutting my hair for 5+ years. I go every 2 weeks and he charges me $17 to cut my hair, manage my eyebrows and trim/shave my beard if I'm sporting one. I tip him very, very well because he's worth much more than he charges and nothing makes me feel as good and sexy as a fresh haircut.
