Oh no!! I knew him as Apollo in Battle star Galactica. Him and starbuck were my first crushes. What a gorgeous man. To be able to run my hands through that beautiful hair. 71 years young.

His costar, Dirk Benedict, was pretty too.

That ass looked so hot in the uniform too. They were such hotties. He's still hot today. Hard to believe he's 72 now.

Interesting that he had cancer in 2012 as well. He said his cure was a macrobiotic diet. I wonder if he shared it with Richard Hatch. Although, I don't think you can compare prostrate cancer to pancreatic cancer which usually is a death sentence. At least whenever I hear of it.

Great thread. After the King died my Dad taught me about Elvis and made me listen to every LP he ever did. It was love at first site! So my first gay crush was a dead man: Elvis Aaron Presley. my age preference for him: 32-35 the comeback years!!!!!!! I still get off to watching that NBC special. @ www.rentmen.com/magicmikeydc

Back in the early 1950s, there were little fanzines (3"x5") sold on newsstands, and I bought one of Elvis for about 25 cents. He was still a new young singer, and there was one black and white photo of him without a shirt, that I used as jack-off material. I didn't have to hide it from my parents, the way I did my copies of Physique Pictorial.

I don't recognize most of the names here... I was feeling old by thinking of Corey Haim, Joey Lawrence, and Mark-Paul Gosselar... but, nevermind. I'm young.

That Corey Haim, though. He was probably my first celeb crush when I saw him in The Lost Boys.

I loved being a 1980's kid..

Me too until I saw what a mess he was when I watched the two Coreys. His last movie was lost boys II but he couldn't show up to the set clean and sober enough to do the scenes.

As a 8 or 9 yo kid, I would get a boner standing at the record counter in Newberry's looking at pics of Elvis on his album covers.

As a teen in the mid 70s, I was interested and immersed in Hitchcock films - all of them.

After watching Psycho, I searched out every library book for pictures and movies (more were shown on late night TV then) that I could find with John Gavin. Imitation of Life, Spartacus, a Tammy movie, Thoroughly Modern Millie....

WOW!

Looking again at this photo I realize the fellows I'm partial to (and hire) have a similar amazingly handsome appearance.

I remember my first "anonymous" crush lol. Early in my teens, my parents bought me a jockstrap to wear (I didn't play sports or anything, but I wore it with my swimming trunks in the summer). On the box cover there was a picture of a model wearing nothing but the jockstrap. I think the picture was just from the neck down, but hell, who needed a face with that body and that alluring bulge, lol? The manufacturers undoubtedly knew the possible effect (for women or for gay men) on such a picture, and it certainly sold me, lol. I seem to remember my mom throwing away the box without any thought (as in many products, the box would have no use once opened) - but I made sure I snuck it back out of the trash and kept it to look at while I jerked off. Can't remember how long I kept it, but I think it was my first real "porn" pic, at least given how I used it.

I have similar experiences. You make me recall the good memory.

Yeah, it's a shame that he was raped by so many older actors and producers back when he was young... passed around at industry parties as if he were a joint. Still happening today, so they say...

He was really cute to me though when I was a kid and he was a teenager.

My first realization came from schoolmates. I quickly realized that my feelings for the boys were waaaaaay more intense than the feelings I had for the girls. As things progressed they labeled it as "just fooling around," "didn't mean anything." Hah! Worked for me. :)

It's more likely that he never had prostate cancer in the first place than that he '"cured it with a macrobiotic diet." They're finding in studies that many cases of "prostate cancer" are so slow that the odds are something else will kill you first.

In many cases there isn't really a definitive diagnosis either. The PSA test is notoriously unreliable for diagnosis.

It is a screening test, not a diagnostic test. If one recognizes the test's limitations, it can be very useful to identify men in need of further testing. If someone has a high PSA, the test should always be repeated, because so many things can cause it to be elevated. Two high readings in a row means the guy is a candidate for either a biopsy or a free PSA test.

Ye gods, who wasn't????

Mostly

Paul Newman, Tyrone Powers, Montgomery Clift, Alain Delon. Cary Grant..........

Ahhh, Montgomery Clift.

After John Gavin, I was obsessed with Monty in my teen years - long after his death. Sought out any and all info I could find.

He even had the fuck-boy hair going on way back when. (Again I'm surprised, looking at the photos, that I tend to gravitate toward and hire gents with a similar look.....)

A real guy, in my very Jesuit high school, who filled out the seat of a pair of Dockers and the shoulders of a Polo oxford cloth button down then in fashion among preppy kids. Handsome in a ruddy Irish way. The guy never knew so far as I know. I've heard he's a doctor in Florida now.

Among the many crushes I had in my senior year of high school after I was already out, was a cute baseball jock named Glen. I never tried to make a pass at him or anything, but I always figured he probably knew I thought he was hot. We didn't really hang out together at all, but he was in classes with me, etc.

In my freshman year of college, a mutual friend told me that Glen had come out. And I know he wasn't trying to pull my leg by saying that - as far as he knew, that was the truth (and he seemed as surprised as I was, lol.). I had these fantasies about trying to get in touch with Glen over break...but of course I never did. Too shy, and just not sure I should do it, given that we weren't close to begin with. I didn't think I had a chance in hell with him anyway, lol.

Years later, I decided to try to find him on facebook, just out of curiosity. He's married (to a woman) and has 3 kids. Hmm.

I wonder if the gay thing was a "phase" (a bit of college experimenting, perhaps), or if it was even true. Ah, well...

Mine was a football guy--I imagine a linebacker. I wasn't out in high school at all--I kept to myself mainly.

I just looked my guy up--still got the lopsided smile and the shoulders. Still cute. Sigh.
