+ m_writer Posted Wednesday at 01:56 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:56 AM This I got from the Trio's Facebook page: If we do the forum gathering again, we'll have to fine a new place to eat (I'm not sure we can go to the airport location). 😭 + Vegas_Millennial, + Just Sayin, marylander1940 and 3 others 1 5
mike carey Posted Wednesday at 02:32 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:32 AM This seems to me to be one of those moments that appear to signal a fin de siècle. + Pensant, + Charlie, marylander1940 and 1 other 1 2 1
maninsoma Posted Wednesday at 11:30 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:30 AM What a shame. Trio was one of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs. + Charlie, marylander1940 and + Pensant 1 1 1
marylander1940 Posted Wednesday at 12:21 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:21 PM I'm sure many of you already know but just in case TRÍO (pronounced TREE-oh, with an accent on the first "i") in Spanish means group of three and also threesome. + Just Sayin and + Charlie 2

BigDMike Posted Wednesday at 08:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:45 PM I for one, won't miss it. Over the years, their food just wasn't what it was....anyone remember the italian restaurant it was before? iL Girasole or something like that? Trio was great for sitting out front during the Christmas (Festival of Lights) parade and that was about it Luv2play 1

I enjoyed my meal at Trio in 2026, but I did think it wasn't as good as it had been pre-pandemic. + Charlie 1
+ azdr0710 Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:11 PM gee, too bad this thread devolved into a restaurant review column....... the many years @Oliver organized the April forum weekend Saturday dinners at Trio were fantastic...... + m_writer, + Oliver, + Charlie and 2 others 2 1 2
+ Vegas_Millennial Posted Wednesday at 10:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:12 PM There just happened to be restaurant named Trio in Puerto Vallarta (I doubt any connection to Trio in Palm Springs), that embraced the "trio" concept by offering exactly 3 appetizers, 3 main courses, and 3 desserts each week. The restaurant was closed on Monday, and when it opened each Tuesday it introduced a new menu for that week based on the availability of fresh ingredients. Sadly, that restaurant closed recently. There is now another restaurant called Trio in Puerto Vallarta (don't know if it's the same owners as the previous location), but they don't have the 3-courses, 3-items per course concept that the other Trio had. + Charlie 1

The price fixed menu for 3 courses was optimal for a group our size at @Oliver's gatherings. I never had any complaints about the food. Service was good. But the real treat was the company at the gathering 😍 + Just Sayin, mike carey, + Charlie and 3 others 4 1 1

Most restaurants go into decline before the fall. Doesn’t take away from their former glories. Just a natural progression. + Just Sayin, + Charlie and Lotus-eater 2 1
