I'm sure many of you already know but just in case TRÍO (pronounced TREE-oh, with an accent on the first "i") in Spanish means group of three and also threesome.

I know and NOW you know how to say threesome in Puerto Vallarta next time you go there!

I for one, won't miss it.  Over the years, their food just wasn't what it was....anyone remember the italian restaurant it was before?  iL Girasole or something like that?

Trio was great for sitting out front during the Christmas (Festival of Lights) parade and that was about it

I have to admit I've only been to Palm Springs once since 2019, and that was earlier this year.  I enjoyed my meal at Trio in 2026, but I did think it wasn't as good as it had been pre-pandemic.

There just happened to be restaurant named Trio in Puerto Vallarta (I doubt any connection to Trio in Palm Springs), that embraced the "trio" concept by offering exactly 3 appetizers, 3 main courses, and 3 desserts each week.  The restaurant was closed on Monday, and when it opened each Tuesday it introduced a new menu for that week based on the availability of fresh ingredients.

Sadly, that restaurant closed recently.  There is now another restaurant called Trio in Puerto Vallarta (don't know if it's the same owners as the previous location), but they don't have the 3-courses, 3-items per course concept that the other Trio had.

gee, too bad this thread devolved into a restaurant review column.......

the many years @Oliver organized the April forum weekend Saturday dinners at Trio were fantastic......

The price fixed menu for 3 courses was optimal for a group our size at @Oliver's gatherings.  I never had any complaints about the food.  Service was good.  But the real treat was the company at the gathering 😍

Most restaurants go into decline before the fall. Doesn’t take away from their former glories. Just a natural progression.

Kind of like the angle or our erection as we age, eh?
