luvhusky Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Supposed to be there April 11. This sucks for us but it really sucks that these cartels have run this country for so long. I had a feeling this gaycation paradise wouldn’t last forever + Lucky, + glutes and marylander1940 2 1
+ Snbrd Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This is awful. Having gone to PV in February and March several times, I was going to post an inquiry about May in PV. As I debated between posting it on the Lounge or Travel forums, I read this. Let's hope this is a once and never again episode. For the best interests of our community and their economy. 🤞
Venite Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) I’m sure American residents who planned trips for a vacation are disappointed. It is imperative that well wishes and goodwill be mostly focused on people who must reside in these areas under the informal rule of cartels. The brutality of those cartels is unspeakable. Like, child ******* and ****** unspeakable. I was disturbed greatly by a story I heard this morning. I hope cjng can be wiped off of the face of the earth. Edit: I know this may break the rules of this lounge (no politics/war) but it just seems like an important note to add to the discussion. Edited 6 hours ago by Venite
luvhusky Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago What will remain is that the cartels will control everything and Mexicans are stuck with this. For us it’s only a slutty vacation. But for Mexico it’s so awful. Nothing can run without the cartels permission + Lucky 1
topunderachiever Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago How about you focus on the insatiable, degenerative US demand. + Lucky, mike carey and marylander1940 2 1

The reason this happened is the US pressure to take the cartels. How do you stop demand? Really have you put any thought into this? Even if all drugs became legal, the cartels will find other ways to keep control and use violence to terrorize people. Also people don’t just become addicts, there are powers in place to create new addicts. This is not an accident.
mike carey Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Gentlemen, let's table the discussion about how the cartels came to have such sway over events in Mexico, particularly any political discussion about influences from north of the Rio Bravo del Norte. The situation is sad, and the implications for the tourist industry potentially profound, there is ample scope for discussion of that. MikeBiDude 1

BTC 🤡 The US should send military planes to rescue all American tourists who want to fly back home before they're kidnapped or killed. A friend of my niece is stuck there and running out of food in his Airbnb, afraid to go out, boiling water before drinking it.
MikeBiDude Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have friends south of PV in Zihuatanejo anchored on their boat. They have seen fires, looting, schools/stores closed, etc. marylander1940 and + Lucky 1 1
+ Letmeworshipit Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have friends in P.V. and in Ajijic on Lake Chapala, both in Jalisco where I lived for a time. They say that today is calm but that a lot of damage has been done to banks, businesses, busses, roads and cars/trucks. It's a mess that will take some time to clean up. IF the cartels don't keep terrorizing the state as a payback for the US/MX forces offing the leader. marylander1940 1
luvhusky Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think Acapulco was what PV is now until the 80s when cartels moved in there. That’s what older gays than me have told me marylander1940 1
