When I was younger, I saved all of that thinking it would make it easier for my biographer. Alas, it doesn’t look like I’ll have a biographer and I have little inclination to go back and look at my own stuff. There must be many landfills full of people’s junk, dead and alive.

You could contact a company that can scan all the photographs and store them on the cloud. 

But, personally, I would just dispose of them.  The feeling of freedom from clutter could outweigh the other feelings of indecision.  As for newspapers and magazines, I'm sure the local library already has them all scanned if you ever need to lookup those articles again.

The hell with the papers! The burning question in my mind @Charlie is did you get rid of the snow shovels, or are you still preparing for another brutal Palm Springs winter? 😉

Mike Carey's comment convinced me that it would be foolish to get rid of the snow shovels, so I'm saving them---just in case. (After all, if we do have a blizzard, where does one acquire snow shovels in Palm Springs?)

The Opera House and the bridge are the iconic images but their prominence obscures that the harbour itself is the real star. I find the bridge in the foreground, the Gladesville Bridge, to be quite spectacular in its own way.

I hadn’t realized there was so much water surrounding the suburbs of Sydney. A lot of nice waterfront properties for those lucky to be living there. Is it safe to swim in the water or are there sharks?

People do swim in the harbour, there are popular beaches and swimming areas, and it is safe, generally, but yes, there are sharks and attacks even deaths are not unknown. As in most things, safe and unsafe are not binary alternatives.

Little rant....

I wish that when I put a city into RentMasseur...it would sort by people actually listed as their home city...or give me that option.  If I'm searching local, yes you can use "location based" but if I'm traveling to a city and do a search, it'll come up with everyone that not only originates there...but also services that city and that distance could be an hour away.   Kind of annoying.  Would be nice if they added more sort/filter options...

When my aunt told me that Netflix offers different shows/movies in the Philippines, I assumed it wasn’t a big deal because the difference between Netflix in the US vs. Spain is almost negligible.

Eek!  It’s night & day!!  In the Philippines, you get a lot of American and Filipino series and movies but almost zero Spanish-language offerings.  The rest of the Philippine programming is a lot of series from other East Asian countries, rounded out with tons of Japanese animé.

I am thinking of getting a friend in either the US or Spain to help me with the verification (I no longer have either a Spanish or US cell number).  If that doesn’t work, oh well, no Netflix until late October (my departure date has been pushed back umpteen times already).

I found out last night that the escort I saw a couple of times Feb 2025 is becoming a priest.  Yup, he’s about to complete his first year in seminary.  Wow, he was so cute, and his body was perfection … Father What-a-Waste.

If this is truly his calling, I’m happy for him.  But selfishly, I’m bummed I won’t be able to see him again.  Well, I guess I could attend mass at his parish, but that wasn’t the kind of seeing I had in mind.

I was going to boast how many Wordle puzzles in a row I have solved, but I checked and found Wordle is mentioned in several other threads. So, discussing Wordle here seems incongruent with the thread title.

Instead, I'll mention learning usage of the word incongruent during professional writing extension courses at University of California Irvine.  

As they say, never stop learning.

 

Incongruent describes things that are out of place, incompatible, or lack harmony.

A graphic that probably qualifies as not being incongruent with the topic of this thread. (The ABS' entire twitter history could easily bear the same title as this thread, or alternatively one of 'Random Shit'.) Anyway, a 10 year snapshot of the frequency of birth dates in Australia.

At a guess, Christmas Day and Boxing Day being the least common (apart from the obvious outrider) is not entirely incongruent with human intervention.

After ordination, maybe you serve as his altar boy on occasion. This could put the odds in your favor; Lord knows there's precedent!
