Why don't more US escorts use encrypted messaging apps?

I still maintain that escorts who whine about ALL the Scammers out there are lazy P****Y whiners.  It takes like 2 minutes to detect and block someone.  Those of us old enough to remember pagers and showing up at hotels over an hour away at 2am only to be told by the front desk there's "nobody here by that name", WE had something to bitch about.  And that happened to me at most 5 times in 2 decades.  I'm not lucky, I'm average.

Sounds like the latter.  I schedule most of my meetings within 2 text messages, using text message in the U.S. or WhatsApp outside the U.S.

It should take minutes, not weeks, to set up a meeting.

We already manage so many platforms. Another messaging app or separate platform to check and get alerts from is just one more distraction we don’t need.

Some of us want to find out as much information on potential clients as possible, for our own safety. We want to know who is going to be reliable, safe, and respectful. Some providers refuse to see clients who have VoIP numbers or only use Signal, Burner, or others.

Some platforms won’t deliver messages containing explicit language. I reach out to potential collaborators sometimes but they never get it because my message had one or more keywords the platform blocks. Now I keep my initial messages clean.

This is me too. I have a separate number and phone for sex work (which, in an homage to days of yore, is red). I have my various communication apps installed on the escort phone.

There used to be a stigma to walking around with two phones, but now I see lots of conventional-looking people with two phones. Work phone and personal phone as the story goes.

I installed Signal on my escort phone after first reading this thread. However nobody has contacted me on it or requested to communicate on it.

I think it's great that you're giving signal a try. You may want to look through your existing list of clients and see if any have signal numbers (you can look up people by number or username) and send them a "hey" if you have a good rapport with those individuals and continue communication on signal instead of other apps. See how it goes! I hope you enjoy signal.

Also I think (within 3 hours of sending) someone a message, you can have it deleted if it hasn't been read yet by the other party. That comes in handy sometimes.

Are discussing specific sex acts for money prohibited? I guess so. But, it's much more polite to wait until it gets to that to demand a change of message source.
