nearly all providers charge exactly the same per hour rate

They may publicly quote the same rate because of the very few sites for advertising, but….everything is negotiable.

I suspect pricing might be similar in many places where smex for m0ney is legal because of learning on the part of suppliers (in this case, providers). The presence of publically advertised rates makes people adjust their prices to whatever optimal point generally exists.  Unlike in the US, where providers can’t publish rates because that would often imply that the smex being advertised is in exchange for $$. Thus, providers in the US are more spread out in what they decide to charge, given no visible common price trend for them to follow.

Yup, exactly. It’s legal, so prices are visible, and providers coalesce around the common visible price point(s).

News to me. How legal? Totally or subject to certain limitations / restrictions?

Yep I’m the shop steward. Everyone out.

Honestly, I didn’t realise everyone charges same. My experience is rates vary a bit. But it’s a very competitive market so rates are bound to coalesce around a market rate.

Coalesce is one thing, I’ve found Latin (Brazilian specifically) providers in particular based in London are exact to the pound. Their rates are not usually always published yet still the same. Coordination a possibility?

Is it negotiable? Or would they simply stop being responsive if one tried to counter offer

I agree with the others, it's a function that the rates are visible so guys set their rates in line with their peers. When I was in London last summer I had no idea what to charge, so looked at what everyone else was charging and set my rate in the middle.

This is at least the case with escorts. For masseurs, I found way more variation. It would depend on the type of massage and the hotness of the masseur.

But rates are not always visible, in fact they’re mostly not. Only when you engage / chat with a provider and they inform you their rates does it become clear the pricing is near identical

The market knows what rates will work and what won’t. Where there’s a lot of providers, those who over charge quickly find they don’t get much custom, so they either drop to the mean or they leave the market. Similarly if someone goes in too low they quickly realise they’re leaving value on the table so they increase rates. It means rates become similar.

Don’t understand the provider pricing model in London - how is it possible that nearly all providers charge exactly the same per hour rate. Is this the same in other cities? US?

It's because they are allowed to publish their prices.  Websites have blocked prices from being displayed in the United States.  Displaying prices allows for more efficient free market competition.

Yeah, most likely. If you see new ads from Latin providers they have lower rates but if you use their service after a month their rates become the "standard" rate.

Now I also realize why RM hides written reviews in the US lol. Clients may not be careful with their words, and may openly describe the encounter as smex for m0n&y…….

Very specific. Smex. Odour fetish? A consensual S&M smackin’ around? Paid with AMEX? A combo of the aforementioned?

Just don’t want to type the words *** *** *****. You never know what sort of web-scraping techniques the authorities are using to hone in on and target US based sites that, well, facilitate the P word.
