I prefer to own stock where the company knows their customer, treats employees well and does not worry about any outside cultural or political issues.  In the case of Tesla the CEO is too distracted with other interests.

The front page of today's Los Angeles Times has an article about violent attacks on Tesla dealerships all over the country, as well as on Tesla charging stations and even individual cars. That certainly will discourage many people from buying the vehicles, and drive down the value of the stock.

I had some concerns about that as well.   Keith Fitz-Gerald claimed in his recent newsletter that Tesla is into a lot more things than cars

I sold my shares the day after the election despite the possibility that share price would increase in the coming months; corporate leadership is important to me as an investor, and I want stock in my portfolio that I am proud to own; I will keep my Model 3 however, until it's time for a new car, but I do not anticipate buying another Tesla

If you are looking for another fantastic electric car, I have a Hyundai Ioniq5 and love it.   Charges to 80% in 18 minutes.  Car and Driver call is the "Tesla Killer".

One day of trading data is meaningless unless one is looking at very short-term gains. Tesla stock has already given back some of that gain.

A long-term investor will be very wary of acquiring new Tesla shares.  Someone who invested years ago is kicking themselves for not selling at the end of 2024.   Yes a day-trader will buy for short-term opportunities but that is it.

I see no long-term upside for Tesla. Too many bridges burned and the leader’s eye is off the ball.

I don't want it.

Market sentiment is terrible, which might be the time to buy

However if the stock is still way overvalued as explained in Adam Conover's March 17th YouTube vlog, and I believe Conover makes some good points, then I still don't want it, even if the share price declines a bunch more.

Tesla is in a tough situation.

I don’t see Tesla stock being a good buy. This could be a problematic brand for some time to come…if it survives at all. Penetration in foreign markets is going to decrease rather than increase for the foreseeable future.   In my trips to Toronto/Montreal last year, many of the Ubers I took were Tesla vehicles. That is sure to decline now. I’m sure the same will happen in most other international markets. At least 50% of potential US buyers won’t touch Tesla even if they were interested in purchasing an electric vehicle.

In summary, the future does not look bright for Tesla.

The first and only time I have been in a Tesla was in a Uber in Montreal two years ago. I thought it was neat. Today I would refuse to take a ride in one. So if there are others like me they may not remain the Uber of choice.

Can you actually decline an Uber because of the kind of car used?

You can decline it for whatever reason before it arrives.

I was wondering about that. When does it get charged to your credit card?

I believe after they’ve arrived and you don’t show up within 5 minutes

(Thanks, SNL!)

Definitely a dumpster fire right now.
It would be hard to own.  people who got in at $220 a share last week probably got out on Friday.

it will be interesting to see what happens with his other Company SpaceX because evidently that was going to go for a IPO sometime in the near future.

I have never owned or understood Tesla stock.

Further news revealing how poor Tesla's sales have been so far in 2025.  Keep in mind that the anti-Musk momentum didn't really gain traction till sometime in February so I would anticipate QTR2 sales to be worse than QTR1.  Unsurprisingly, sales in Europe have been devastated.

I don’t think his daily Comments and his outside work is going to end well for the company.

I would think the board of directors would ask him to either focus on the company or leave management and the board. Perhaps he controls too many shares for that to happen.
