BTW: I was in Montreal this past (rainy) weekend and while I always love being there, the two providers that I had booked BOTH flaked on me

And I thought it was just an American (sprecifically New York) ailment!

In the last two years I have had two providers in Montreal flake on me. Considering the number I see that’s not bad. But in the previous 5 years I had no flakes. So things are getting worse. 
 

Certainly during the pandemic no one flaked. I think they were very happy to find clients who were willing to meet.

had long standing plans with two guys - separately and then together

one flaked an hour before meet up because "other plans" ($$??) came up

the other (who actually owed me money, long story) flaked because of "bad drugss"

This past weekend was NOT a holiday weekend in Canada.
The previous weekend was Victoria Day weekend. That was a Canadian holiday. Bozo was in Toronto. Lots of holiday events going on....

Actually, unlike for Canada, Quebec deviates from celebrating Victoria Day as a statutory holiday but has long established National Patriots Day exclusively for the province to coincide with the same Monday. It’s too complicated a history to explain; you will likely wonder why the term national when it’s not federal, but it acknowledges history that precedes 1867 Confederation (when Canada established) by a few decades. As many will know Quebecers also more inclined to resist monarchist association. 

Campus was packed Saturday but that may reflect Memorial Day weekend influx from USA. Also, the neighborhood generally comes more alive with the seasonal terraces. However, it’s been 21 years since I met a dancer that interests me sufficiently to migrate from the back private room to my home nearby on a scheduled basis.

It's not surprising that Quebec has opted out of celebrating Victoria Day. It could be perceived as either their way of displaying a strong sense of identity and a desire to maintain their French cultural heritage.... or... pure arrogance. Bozo defers that to the far more cerebral @SirBillybob It's worth noting that Wikipedia refers to Victoria Day as a "federal statutory holiday". One wonders if the holiday really is both federal AND statutory how does Quebec get away with not observing it. Oh well... C'est la vie!
Perhaps as an alternative to a day honoring Queen Victoria, Quebec should institute another holiday. Something more creative than "National Patriots Day". It should be a like-minded holiday which would honor Quebec's French heritage. How about Marie Antoinette Day? And as an hommage to Marie Antoinette, husbands can buy their wives, and men can buy their girlfriends, a piece of French (let them eat) cake. And for the femme quebecoise looking to purchase that perfect Marie Antoinette Day gift for her husband/boyfriend, she could buy him a miniature working guillotine. The man can use the miniature guillotine to perform a self-circumcision. Of course, a jar of numbing ointment would have to be included.

Circling back to the original topic, Bozo is glad to hear the Montreal strip clubs are thriving. Let's pray that continues. Bozo also hopes the huge exchange disparity between the US and Canadian dollar continues. That, more than anything, will keep the tourism business strong and vibrant.
As of today, $1.00 = $1.38 Can. Yummy!

When I had a place in Montreal in the Gay Village 20 years ago I struck up a friendship with one of the dancers from Campus. After several sessions in the back rooms, which were hot and steamy, I took him back to my apartment. 
As it turned out he was a descendant of one of the famous ‘Patriotes’ of 1837. Even has a Montreal street named after him not far from Campus. 
I still have photos taken of him naked with a hardon in my bedroom.

Most of the streets in the Village are named after French Canadian notables from its history. The one English one I can recall, other than Wolfe, which is beside Montcalm, is Amherst, which was expunged a couple of years ago. Other English ones bit the dust decades ago. For example Craig St became St. Antoine. Dorchester became Rene Lévesque. 
All of this of course reflects the rising nationalism in Quebec. I only object when streets are renamed with unpronounceable and unspellable names. Like Amherst with …?

I was going with Papineau actually. All last 3 letters should be silenced as o would do. 

But speaking of pronunciation and confusingly silent letters was it Am-irst, Aw-mairst, Am-ersed, Am-hears’d, … ? I think Enry Iggins proposed the new name.

I will be visiting campus and stock bar the first time in July. Very excited. What are prices for lap dances at both bars? Additionally, how handsy can you get? I’ve been to other strip clubs where I have the ability to get myself off while getting entertained by the dancer. At Johnson’s in Fort Lauderdale for example, has the vip booth, where essentially anything goes with the dancer for a higher price. Does campus and stock bar have similar set up?

Amherst is pronounced Am hurst. General Amherst had a distinguished military career in Canada but has been condemned recently for his alleged advocating the use of smallpox infected blankets to poison the natives. 
Today the issue has come back as the Hudson Bay Company is dissolving and their famous blankets were implicated it would appear. Despite that I treasure my Hudson Bay four point blanket.

It's $20/song at all three stripper bars in Montreal (although one dancer at Stock this week used a timer on his phone instead and quoted me a price of $20 per 3 minutes, which was fine with me).

 

Handsiness varies widely, depending on the dancer. One dancer at Campus this week didn't even get naked until after the second song; he was not into interactivity. A dancer at Stock got naked (and hard) right away, he was all over me, and he suggested he would have allowed a lot of fooling around for the right price.

Please be careful about reporting activities in the private booths.  They are private for a reason (The first rule about fight club, and all that).

Don't risk jeopardizing a club's operating license by admitting to activity against the posted rules of the club.

No they don't.
Lap dances at Stock Bar are done in a separate room that is walled of from the rest of the club. There are curtains in each individual lap dance booth which provide some privacy. Only "some" privacy because the curtains are not floor-to-ceiling. But as long as you keep your feet on the floor, you'll be fine.
Lap dances at Campus are set up very differently. The room where lap dances are done is separated from the rest of the club only by a set of clear plexiglass doors. Anyone who wants to, can look into the room and view what's going on. Bozo has frequently seen creepy (and non-creepy) customers hanging around the DJ booth, alongside the lap dance room, peering in to see what's going on in there. And to make matters even worse, the individual lap dance booths are totally open. There are no curtains. No curtains = NO PRIVACY. There is, however, one lap booth at Campus (the larger one in the corner) which cannot be viewed from outside of the room. That's always the popular one.
And if size matters, the Campus lap dance booths are generally much smaller than those at Stock Bar.
Many customers clearly don't mind the lack of privacy and smaller spaces at Campus since that is usually the more crowded of the two bars.

Bozo had that same experience. Greg was the culprit. He used the 3-minute timer with Bozo. He didn't let Bozo know that he was using the timer, instead of the normal song count, until we were actually in the lap dance booth. Since most songs are around 4 minutes long, Greg was getting a 25% premium for his lap dances. This may be okay with @Ichabod. It wasn't okay with Bozo. After two songs, Bozo ended the session, paid Greg his $$, and said good bye. Lesson learned.

Not that visibility ever mattered as private dances were years ago at tables in general seating and a lot could nevertheless creatively occur, prior to the current obsession of recording everything for visual posts, at Campus some time ago the plexiglass barrier was frosted with staggered opaque horizontal stripes. 

Cue the besides the point entry of the no camera rule. My point is simply a historical context for one’s assessment of privacy. I’m not the least bit exhibitionist but in those days it was a venial if not mortal sin to not offer one’s lap on which a hot guy could deposit self his perfect behind. One just suppressed overt expressions that typically accompany orgasm.
