I don't remember who it was who on here mentioned in passing in regard to massage guns. He said that he's paying a guy to massage him with his hands, and if he wanted a massage gun used, he could do it himself at home for free.

I find it bizarre seeing too many providers posing with a massage gun in their ads. I've only had one person use it on me, and it gave me agonizing, convulsing cramps. It could be attributed to the lengthy fasting I put myself through to be ready "back there" and not the massage gun, or because I had a thorough massage from someone different five hours prior - I'll never know.

If you witness the gun in an ad as a client, do you reject that person in your selection process? If you're a provider, does it bother you if a client tells you to not use one on them?

I don't immediately reject the masseur, but inquire about it. I am not fond of the idea of using any gadgets on me. However, in other settings, such as when getting a nice makeover haircut and beard trim, the barber used some kind of vibrating device to massage my neck and shoilders and it feels celestial.

I am not open to the idea of a device in a massage since part of my needs involve physical contant, sometimes erotic, sometimes relaxing/non-sexual, but actual physical contact.

I actually like it as part of a massage.  In fact I’ll bring one with me.  For what ever reason the providers I’ve seen don’t like using them.  Almost like it brings up past trama lol.

I'm not a fan of massage guns, but a masseur whose pics displayed on or who asked if I want him to use one on me would not deter me from hiring him. Like anything else, I'd say "no thanks, I prefer you use your hands." For whatever reason, that approach works.

Does your no gadgets rule include dildos?

All kinds of gadgets. I'm not fond of inanimate foreign objects. Honest question: why do you inquire about this?

Gentlemen, gentlemen, BACK TO THE SUBJECT. I have no problem with witty, semi-witty, or non-witty comments in threads. Turning a back-and-forth about dildo usage has zero to do with massage guns at all.

For the record, those I do enjoy, but don't get enjoyment out of watching other people use them - for visual stimulation, it needs to be the real thing.

OK, we'll behave.

It’s a huge turn off for me. A massage gun displayed prominently in an ad communicates that this masseur uses the gun regularly as part of his routine, and that he doesn’t have a plan for how he uses the full time using only his body. Almost like it’s a crutch, or a way to fill time not actually massaging. I know one masseur who told me he uses it for that exact purpose.

One of my worst massage experiences was with a guy who used a massage gun. He told me his hands were too tired from texting clients all day. I call BS.

I want a real person to use their body - hands, arms, etc to massage me. Not turn on a device to substitute for what only a real, live human can do - a human I am paying quite a bit of money to do. Also there’s the human contact, the physical touch (especially from a man) you just can’t substitute.

Massage guns have their purpose. I just find those situations better suited outside the context of a pricey session with a masseur.

Now, sex toys, on the other hand…those can be fun. Best used in the context of an escort session though. Or a combo massage/escort session.

A masseur used a massage gun device on me.  It made this clackity-clappity-clacking percussive noise and didn't feel at all enjoyable.

I figured it was just the beginning, that the massage would transition to something better.

But the massage gun phase continued on and on and on.  Clack-clap-clackity-clackity-clack.

Too bad.  He was this super hot looking guy.

More recently I arrived at a session with another provider and noticed his massage gun.  I told him not to use it.  The massage sucked anyway, and not in a good way.

So what exactly is the selling point of a massage gun?   Does anyone appreciate the massage gun technique?  Why?

I think you have to have a therapist that actually knows HOW to use a massage gun. To me it’s not a replacement for massage, it’s an entirely different experience. I had one trainer who was truly gifted at using it. I would argue in the right hands and for the right indication, it’s in someways superior to massage. Also, a bad massage gun treatment is better than a bad hands on massage. So if the guy sucks at massage, a massage gun might save the day. It will still suck but it will suck less.

YMMV.

PS I agree that if you walk into a massage appointment and see a massage gun in the room, you can assume the massage will suck.
