Anybody else finding Grindr aggravating as hell?

I'm 65 and I consider Grindr a complete waste of time...yet I can't delete it...LOL.  From a young person's perspective, I totally get that the vast majority of them have zero interest in anyone over 40/50.  I was exactly the same when in my 20's/30's...so I hold no hostility towards them at all.  Yes there are exceptions...but they are rare.

Back to the main topic.  I'm currently in Toronto and I find the incidence in ads on Grindr is substantially higher than when I'm in the US.  Every time I go to Grindr, I have to go through games/ads.  Its absurd.  Still not worth paying for it since it's mostly useless for me.

I deleted Scruff about a year ago and Grindr a few months ago… replaced them with this site/RM and am way happier (and still hooking up with the same [incredibly low] number of men lol).

Ok, but, guys aren’t on IG to find dates. They’re on IG for street cred, like a visual, vain facebook. People on Grindr and Tinder are there (theoretically) to meet others who share their sexuality. I think I’ve said hi to three guys on IG; I vaguely recall one of them wanting to talk more. But I still wouldn’t want to “use” IG as a dating app.

Insta is my main dating/hooking up platform, recently followed by TikTok. Probably because I like vain boys 🤣.

I can tell you that it requires more effort than saying hi to start chatting. I understand that other people don't want to put the effort. But for me its where my target audience is.

Personally I don't use app, I only use RM for hiring, and I just do what I've always done, good old-fasion in-person cruising. It still works.

I got tired of a friend complaining about the druggies and various guys looking for $$, with sob stories e.g.  needing to pay for text books at USC.  Yeah, right.

He honestly could not afford that scene.  Seemed like once he gave them $$  these guys would tend show up at his door.   

That's all I know about Grindr.

That's appalling the Grindr is selling info.  This is why I also haven't subscribed to OnlyFans/JFF, even though I want to. I remember housesitting my for boss and the awkwardness of collecting his mail,  which frequently had blatant porn-site ads ("Sexual Content Inside!"). I would be mortified if the shoe was on the other foot.

I've been using TikTok recently because it is the preferred platform for a couple of interesting guys I met, and technically is the worst piece of software I've ever seen. Full of bugs. It makes Grindr and instagram look flawless.

You actually met some guys off tiktok? 

I thought that the tiktok sight monitors everything and people get tossed off tiktok for even minor things.

There are 4 guys I am talking on TikTok, aged 18-22. I started using TikTok when the first one said that its the only place he checks his messages...

Why get tossed off? We are just chatting. No "escort" word or money discussion.

I met the first one the 22yo, next week I'll meet the second one (19yo) when he gets back from his summer vacation, and two 18 yo are work in progress, September pipeline. 😅

I’ve done a significant amount of sexting via Facebook messenger in the past and never had an issue… I think you should be safe on there as long as you don’t bring up any illegal activity.
