Archbishop
What’s an acceptable time to wait around for a provider at appointment time before walking out of the hotel lobby? Similar to the 10 or 15 minute rule for college professor to show up.
TorontoDrew
15 minutes at the most. They ahould have at least contacted you by then. Any time I waited longer it was a waste of time as they never showed. + glutes, Wanderoz and dbar123 1
Lazarus
I would give them at least 30 minutes. Probably because most people in NYC are usually delayed by one thing or another. pubic_assistance, Luv2play, thomas and 1 other 1

Archbishop
I’m glad I asked because I’m stingy at waiting around 5 minutes for each hour we have scheduled! If I don’t hear from the provider, I just assume he bumped me for another client. + glutes and TorontoDrew 1

Jamie21
And then there’s being hired, confirming all ok with the client before setting out, going to the address the client gave you, arriving on time and then being told by the client that he’s not ready for 15 minutes, waiting around for him to be ready…only then to have the client ghost you and switch off his phone. Presumably because he’s changed his mind…. And what’s worse is doing that with another sex worker because the client wanted the two of you. No deposit paid or anything and both of us having travelled to him and wasted our time. We waited another 10 minutes just in case he was genuine, and then gave up and went for breakfast together (the guy I was working with was a friend). We waited too long. I was also naive then because I didn’t notice the signs he would flake (there were lots). Now I know better I wouldn’t wait longer than 5 minutes without a clear message. It works both ways, provider or client should be on time, if they’re not they should message the other person and agree a revised time if possible. Otherwise cancel it. + KensingtonHomo, Njguy2, Chancealot and 8 others 5
dbar123
I made the mistake of waiting 30min outside the door of a provider. He called me after that to tell me he was running errands and wouldn’t be back for an hour and asked me to wait. I left and never rebooked. If you don’t hear from someone within 15 min of arrival then you are definitely wasting your time. MSCLMAKER
I’ve had that happen also. Many years ago I was to meet up with SolofkexKC outside Baltimore. Went to the front desk to call his room. I hit no answer to was waiting around in the lobby. 5 minutes later two police approach me in the lobby. They ask me my business with SolofkexKC. I said he was a friend. Turns out he got into a fight at the hotel bar the night before and left the hotel. I was not happy at this time. Police asked if I knew what he looked like. I gave them his description. He later called me an apologized. We did meet later that day. What a body and he was super strong. Last I heard he passed away. If I don’t get a response from escorts in 10 minutes I leave. My time is just as valuable as theirs.
Jostar
I'll wait 30 minutes. After that I leave. I especially hate it when you wait 30 minutes and leave then a hour later he text you he apologized he was busy and still want to see you. That point I say am no longer interested. thomas, dbar123, chadLA and 1 other 3
Whippoorwill
When I moved to San Francisco, I was taught the 15 rule...for work, for a lunch date, for a doctor's appointment, for whatever. When you depend on transit, there is no such thing as late...you get there when you get there. That being said, a prudent person knows this and leaves 15 minutes before he thinks he needs to. That being said, and having picked my providers carefully, I have never had to wait but a few minutes and they have never had to wait for me but a few minutes. And mostly not at all. Works for me. marylander1940 and TorontoDrew
Luv2play
I usually like a provider to be on time as mostly they are coming to me. But there are cases when a few are chronically late by a half hour or more. Still, these are usually for longer sessions and form my entire evening entertainment so I have learned to be relaxed and go with the flow. Last evening was a perfect example. I had a date for 8:30 which originally was scheduled for 9, advanced to 8 at his request the day before and then switched to 8:30 again at his request at 5:00pm. He showed up at the hotel I was staying in at 9. I had texted him at 8:28 when I hadn't heard from him. He said he was just about to leave. Anyway I was glad to see him as we hadn't met since the pandemic started. We had scheduled 2 hours. Once in my room, he gave me a big passionate kiss and the fireworks started. At 12:30 as we were cuddling in bed he casually asked what time it was. I had lost complete track of the time in his arms. When he went to shower I added $150 to his fee as that was all the extra cash I had on hand. He happily accepted my offering. Today I wired him an extra $100 unsolicited just because I had a marvelous evening and in fact he made my whole trip to Toronto worthwhile. Late this afternoon, he asked me by text to tell him the next time I am coming so we can meet. Patience has its rewards. 56harrisond, Dolman, + robear and 1 other
+ KensingtonHomo
I won’t wait more than 5-10 minutes without contact. For me, communication is key. We’ve had guys run late and they text to say so, and it’s usually not a problem. If I’m running late, same thing. marylander1940
+ goosh69
Often when the escort is late, they try to make it up by rushing you to get back on schedule. In my experience. So definitely 15 minutes tops. Moke

Decatur Guy
I usually have them come to me, and I realize there can be traffic issues, parking issues and such. I'll grant more leeway on that depending on the guy. Up to an hour. If I'm in a hotel lobby, I generally will wait about 20 minutes max with no text or contact all. If I'm not hearing anything by then, I'm out. And I'll grant about 20 more minutes if there is an issue. But 40 minutes is pretty much my max. I usually do two confirmations after an appointment is set. So say I make an appointment at noon for a meeting at 9 p.m. Around 6 p.m, I'll confirm I'm still good to meet. Then I'll confirm I'm leaving my place if I go to the provider. If the provider is coming to me, I ask him to let me know when he's on the way. And sometimes, I'll send an "in-progess" text if I'm hitting bad traffic, etc., if I'm traveling. Communication is key. I don't mind waiting for a legit reason. But do not leave me in the dark. You're extremely patient -- much more than me. And your last line is spot on. I've never had an issue with the few times I've hired escorts, but masseurs have been a bit of an issue. I don't mind providers running late or needing to reschedule; however, being ghosted a few times has been annoying. I texted one provider 3 times about a session (once around noon, then around 8 p.m. that evening, then around 6:30 p.m. the next day); he never replied. Another said he would get back to me about an appointment but didn't; and the third one rescheduled me for a time that would work better for him (which was absolutely fine) -- and didn't reply when I reached out to confirm. They were all guys I had seen multiple times over the years, so it was frustrating, but I moved on and found providers who communicated better. If someone is late because the metro/subway hasn't arrived or his uber cancelled, he should text you and inform you. The same applies to client! Also not everyone and everything is next door or just a few clicks away. Patience is a missing virtue nowadays therefore if you're late or you can't make it in 30 minutes as spoken just say it. + DrownedBoy
For outcalls, after 5 minutes, I ask what's taking them. My tolerance depends on my schedule. On an empty night before an unscheduled morning, I'd put up with being more late. If I'm on a schedule though, I tell them I'm cancelling after 15 minutes unless they show up. Young escorts can be the worst, since they seem to think time is still a suggestion. When I "fired" a young regular for his constant lateness, he actually laughed. He stopped laughing when he realized I really wasn't going to ever hire him again. To him, punctuality was a joke. I don't see a bright future for him. I've also found that punctuality is generally less important to providers younger than 30 than those older. Though I must say I've found notable exceptions to both rules. That's yet one more reason I tend to go with guys in their 30s and older; odds are better they'll keep the appointment and be on time. I rarely hire below 25 for a variety of reasons. Punctuality is just one of them. + DrownedBoy and TorontoDrew
TorontoDrew
I had one young escort show up to our first session a half hour late. He did text at one point to say he was running late though. I did speak to him about it as another client also told me he showed up late for a session. Told him it was not professional. I've seen him twice since and he's been on time. + DrownedBoy and marylander1940
