Luv2play Posted February 2, 2023 Share Posted February 2, 2023 I would guess that rents are the biggest factor now as everywhere, not just in the large cities, they are skyrocketing since the pandemic started to ease. Here in my small town new 2 bedroom apartments are going from $2500 to $3500, compared to $1200 to $1500 just a couple of years ago. Toronto and Vancouver are even higher and Montreal not far behind. When I raise this with escorts its only the ones who have been in the biz for a longer period who own their own homes. The younger ones are renters and often have roommates. One I hired before Christmas told me at dinner that he had bought his two bedroom condo in the trendy Plateau district almost a decade ago for under $200,000 and now it was worth $500,000. And he rented the second bedroom until recently to another escort who I had been with 4 years ago several times. He kicked him out for just cause. In other respects both had similar careers in the biz and were similarly high profile, doing porn with major US and Canadian studios and charging similar rates. One invested wisely and the other not. It’s not because it’s 8 pm that a guy is going to lower his price. A professional guy will never go down to $150 unless he is desperate. if you pick an inexperienced new guy with no reviews you might get him right away for less than 300. An escort will charge different fees depending on the request. Inflation is hitting everyone, in most large cities. Rents are skyrocketing. Interest rates are creeping back upward. This is not the time when you're going to see a lot of escorts drop their rates. A professional smart working guy will never offer discounts or devaluate himself when the night comes. Night time is when they make the most money. Well, as per your logic, I suppose it's a good thing that some of us have a longstanding, regular clientele and don't need to sweat the hourly game.
