I have been considering to plan a visit to the area, however I had forgotten about this I heard on other boards.

I know someone mentioned why cities like Austin have lots of flakes, now maybe he knows why.

If/When I go, I may have to make clients agree to an explicit agreement that it’s for time and travel expense only. Which likely will mean getting out of way upfront (or even before meeting).

Dude, Texas has been on my refuse-to-travel-to list since June of last year, when the Republicans (who control the whole state) added this to their official political platform:

"Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice"

Too bad there's a friend there I can't visit anymore; last saw him last May.

I now almost exclusively travel out of state when seeing clients.  No skin off my ass.

Ha. I can only imagine. Story of my life being based in Missouri. Always having to go elsewhere. KC is dead, St. Louis is on life support. Just waiting to catch the right week where I can go on a long tour, save up, and get the next U-Haul the fuck outta here. All it is is cheap guys who want bareback and open relationships 🤦🏾‍♂️

I am mainly wanting to go to Tex for the after holiday shopping and get into a bigger market. And as far as the Midwest goes, that’s the next biggest place besides Chicago. But it likely won’t be on my move to list. Kamala needs to re-emphasize to Texas that statement about “I can see legalizing it”

Chastity is also an abnormal lifestyle choice. What do they intend to do about it?

While it's annoying as hell, is this law really anything new? I always thought pandering & solicitation were illegal. To avoid the hint of selling/buying sex, most escort listings state you are buying their time.

It's illegal yes but not a felony like in Texas now. I would never engage in hiring in Texas if I ever went there just to be safe. Sucks for all you guys living there.

Well, I know when I was posting to go last week, I did have a handful of inquiries. But I had to unfortunately postpone halfway there because the timing and schedule didn’t allow me to continue.

I would probably guess most of the knowledgeable clients may be ignoring that.

But again: just because something is a felony in one place, doesn’t make it Ian “actual” crime. As we’ve seen with Britney Griner.

If a client ever got in trouble in Texas, I would advise using the Kamala video as defense. It was consensual! The VP said it lol.

It definately bears takeing due caution and seeing how this law gets used. I'd expect to see some publicity seeking sheriffs start setting up sting operations targeting johns.  I'm not sure how'd they use it to harass providers on RM, but if it's intended to target pimps you might see an AG try to go after the site or try to charge providers under some interpretation of that part of it.

Somehow I doubt the intended purpose of helping people being trafficed into sexwork will translate into any enforcement actions end up doing that, except where they incidentally find some victims of that in the course a sting.

Well fortunately, long time ago RM deemed us as porn stars, with no rates. So they really wouldn’t have much to go by.

I’d be. more concerned about getting busted in Polk County FL than anywhere in Texas. But I haven’t been to Texas in years so I may be mistaken.

Even before this new felony law, one provider was arrested in Austin and sentenced to probation and fined. The probation caused a lot of headaches and he was so relieved after it was over.

How long ago?

And yes - technically Texas has no "Nordic model" cities like most other large U.S. cities. This means the provider can be arrested, not just the client. A few months ago, a sting arrested one of their own (straight) detectives. Sexual hypocrisy and stupid cops don't mix.

This happened a few years ago. I can’t remember the exact year.

Texas, Florida and Russia just need to become all one big federation. The first to come up with the wildest unnecessary laws for the sake of punishing people for the shock value of it. Perhaps, Texaflorissia shore 😂

…Ok nuff said. I don’t want to get this moved to politics. I do think this is a genuine provider issue. Even though it’s not pleasant to discuss, it’s always good to be on the up and up.

43.04. AGGRAVATED PROMOTION OF PROSTITUTION. (a) A person commits an offense if he knowingly owns, invests in, finances, controls, supervises, or manages a prostitution enterprise that uses two or more prostitutes. (b) An offense under this section is a felony of the first degree.

Thank you so much for sharing!

2 or more prostitutes is the key.

Hire independent men.

Not so fast lol. Let’s say you own a website that runs ads for providers, are you going to allow only one ad at a time?

If two persons put up ads at the same time, you could be charged with felony under this provision.

Thanks for the clarification.

It sounds like they are trying to scare people with the same rehearsed broad language, but in reality it’s just the typical going after guys trying to turn women into hoes and profiting off of it.

If they really wanted to make a difference. Just say: dudes (or women), you can’t sell women (or boys) for prostitution and make a gain off it. Its a felony.

Of course the media tends to overstate the better by saying buying any sex is a felony.

That’s why all current sites for such things are outsourced. RM is in Amsterdam. Technically that could be the case, but who’s opening up escort sites in Texas nowadays?
