I haven't spent any time at CB in a long time. It used to be a lot of fun in "the old days". Now it's just so oversaturated and too commercial. Buying and distributing tokens just isn't the same kick as actual in-person interaction. It's a lot of guys fighting for a small universe of tokens.

Anyone watch the short-lived sci-fi western-flavoured series "Firefly" a decade and a half ago (and its big screen conclusion film, "Serenity") ?  It predicted what you mentioned above.  One of the crew members on the small ship is an escort (they call them "Companions" in the show) and in one episode focused on her, you see her going through a list of applicants (potential clients) on her tablet, watching their videos, rejecting and accepting them and setting up appointments.  She only seemed to have wealthy clientelle.

That's the centralized and more common form of prostitution in that imagined future, but there are still traditional whores as well (the show's terminology).  In another episode, they head to a rougher planet and one of the companion's friends has set up a whorehouse (and is its madame) because she didn't like the way things were being done in the mainstream companion world.

In all likelihood, traditional escorts will still be around in some form.  Due to the appeal of JustForFans and the like, though, it might become more of a niche thing to hire one for some in-person time.  And it might get more expensive and be mostly for the wealthy?  We'll see.
