Holy shit. More than 700 strippers since 2006?. Damn that's a lot. You could be walking in Montreal without even knowing that you passed by an exstripper from Stockbar.

That's one of the fun things about sitting street side on St. Catherine in the summer... watching the parade of current and ex-strippers from Campus, Stock etc... porn stars too. As Quebec opens up I'm hoping to resume that pleasant practice this summer.

Thanks for the new videos. Will check in tomorrow to see the latest being posted tonight. The recent one shows a very quiet street scene in broad daylight and the place seems devoid of colours I am used to seeing, having lived there from 1997 to 2010.

I was also a frequent visitor up until COVID struck so it looks rather desolate, I have to say.

Well I'll believe it when I see it. Most Canadians are opposed to an opening at this point.

I agree.  I'd really be surprised if the border were to re-open to tourist travel this month.  I'm still predicting sometime in the July to September timeframe.

Canadian Border to Stay Closed to Nonessential Travel until at least early July.....

Correct.  The initial loosening of rules is for fully vaccinated Canadians that travel abroad.  They no longer need to quarantine for 14 days upon returning to Canada.  As far as opening the US/Canada border to tourists/business visitors going in either direction, nothing meaningful will happen until July or afterward IMHO.  We will probably know more on the timing within 7-10 days.

As I have observed for some time now, the Canadian authorities are taking baby steps and being super cautious about reopening borders. They are mindful that to date Canada has had one third the number of Covid cases and deaths per capita that the US has experienced. With elections coming up soon in Ontario and at the federal level, they don't want to screw it up now.

I agree.  The border re-opening will be a slow process.  I don't blame Canada for wanting to be cautious.  Relative to the US, it handled the COVID situation much better during 2020.  With the exception of amping up the development of vaccines, the US management of the pandemic was awful in 2020.  Thankfully the person largely responsible for that is no longer in office.

I have maintained for months that the re-opening will occur in the July - September timeframe.  Do you feel that is too optimistic?

The critical metric will be when the majority of adults are double vaccinated. This is now projected by September so by then I think tourists will be allowed into the country.

I and my cohort of 70 plus are just now receiving our second doses, mine in two weeks. That means mid July before I am enjoying the full effects of the vaccine. The summer will be almost half over before I can really start to going about more freely.

It's very a long haul, especially watching Americans loosening up much earlier.

Are you kidding me? Without Operation Warp Speed you wouldn't even have the vaccine.

I agree. It would have been nice for Canadians to have the opportunity to be fully vaccinated back in April like most Americans.
