SirBillybob
The overhanging canopy was permanently retired prior to COVID19. I think World Pride had been set to occur in Toronto in 2024. May get a spillover of tourists taking in Montreal as well.

There was a time when Campus supposedly opened at 1 pm on some days (weekends?), I think. Haven't paid attention to this in years.
+ Lucky
I enjoyed Montreal in its heyday. Lap dances were fun, but couldn't compare once I discovered the Brazilian sauna experience. Sex aside, a visit to Montreal would be a good idea after the pandemic. Luv2play

Estimated early in the vid by the lamp pole shadow arc, in June, when sunset is past 20:30 .... it drops behind the mountain about an hour earlier, so I would say between 6 and 7 PM. Guessing. SirBillybob
Good eye! This is pandemic life ... LOL. Observing the lamp-pole sun-position shadow rather than the hot stripper spinning around the stage-pole or the stripper’s pole casting a shadow in private dance mode. Luv2play
Estimated early in the vid by the lamp pole shadow arc, in June, when sunset is past 20:30 .... it drops behind the mountain about an hour earlier, so I would say between 6 and 7 PM. Guessing. I had a condo one block east of Campus some years ago and on the longest day of the year the sun would set on the Village at 8;30 pm or so. The streets like Wolfe and Montcalm run east west so the sun set directly up the street from Ste Catherine. I have pictures of it in an album. I call them fire on Montcalm as the golden hue was amazing reflecting off the buildings. The mountain was to the west and didn’t block the sun as it settled on the western horizon. Also no high rises nearby to block it as well.
SirBillybob
Yes, I now realize that the mountain’s elevation seems so deceptively high from the Belvedere, and because I experience its shadow quite a bit. In fact I hike up at times I can avoid direct sunlight. But it is just a few hundred metres in altitude. It would not at all obscure sunset’s horizon proximity extending to The Village. LD19847
It was never a place you went to for the food but it attracted plenty of patrons and is a good spot for people watching on Rue Ste Catherine. Luv2play
It was never a place you went to for the food but it attracted plenty of patrons and is a good spot for people watching on Rue Ste Catherine. Hope they find a buyer and it stays open. It is a very nice place to have a casual meal and always full during the busy hours, when many of its competitors were almost empty. I felt comfortable dining by myself or with friends, including escorts who would accompany me. It would be shame if it shuttered its doors completely if a new owner is not found. There are already many chain restaurants in the Village who will survive no matter what. They’ve had an incredible run since the 1990s and made a lot of money for their owners, who are probably getting to the age when they want to cash out. The pandemic has probably hastened that decision. Over the years, many restaurants like this have closed in the Village. I will mourn it’s disappearance if that is what happens. But I still love Montreal and it’s joive de vivre. Chidude and Atlanta_Guy

When dining alone, I never felt rushed or ignored. @Luv2play, can you tell from the ad whether they are selling the property or just the business? I don't know real estate prices in the Village, but CAD$379,000 seems low for that building. The instagram post from the owners (link in @LD19847's post above) is interesting and gracious and reflects Saloon's atmosphere very well. Hi there, I would assume it’s just the business but maybe includes some unused lease, which would be valuable in normal circumstances. Not sure if that’s the case now since vacancy rates for commercial premises are higher as a result of many business closings and rents have probably declined. You’re right about the amount. The building would add hundreds of thousands more as there are also rental units above the restaurant as I remember.
