I agree it’s partly a generational thing, but rude is rude.

 

I know lots of young men who think nothing of showing up 30 min late.

Not even so much as an apology. I usually let it slide the first time but

as they’re leaving I make it clear that in the future, if they’re more than

10 min late without communication, I consider the appointment

cancelled. Don’t bother showing up. I won’t be there.

 

Sometimes it fixes the problem. Sometimes it doesn’t. YMMV.

I guess he stood me up as well. Made an appointment earlier today for 7pm; I sent him a reminder 1 hr prior and he replied immediately that he will be coming; he has been already an 1hr late and did not respond to my last message. At least, thanks to this forum I was kind of prepared that this might happen... but still, it is such a disappointment. What I don't understand is his confirmation 1hr prior that he would be coming and would be on time.

Yeah being late is not uncommon. But this no show no response attitude is annoying. I have seen about 10 escorts so far and I would say only 4 or 5 were on time. The rest were late but communicated in advance that they will be late and kindly apologized. One in particular told me he would be an hour late and then texted me 5hrs later and asked if he could come then. But Derek is at a different of unprofessionalism. Anyway, I had a good time in LV so all good. Looking fwd to my NY trip in a few months!

I’ve always wanted to meet him and one time made an attempt and I immediately felt like I was going to get the runaround. It just seemed like our plans were too loose and given some others experiences, I just said “never mind something came up.” This was several years ago and I too hoped some of his more recent troubles may have changed him for the better. Sounds like more of the same.

 

Now if I could just get my Vegas trips to align with the calendar of @peterhung85 ...one of these days!

I would guess a better strategy for him would be same-day appointments. At least in terms of him showing up of he says he will. Probably lower odds of a response at all.

I've also seen a guy who bailed on me the 2nd and 3rd times and I heard he did the same to others. He's 100% clean and wholesome but just can't keep future appointments well so we all decided he was someone to get same-day only. There are some great guys who are just this way.

Porn doesn't pay nearly as much as escorting. Don't most of these guys do it just to advertise their escorting? Once your name and image are out there I assume you don't need to do it any more if you don't want to. Also I think he stopped when bareback became the norm. He’s always been someone I’ve been interested in as he ticks most/many of my boxes. BUT, for every glowing review of a positive, enjoyable interaction, there’s 3 or 4 negative/no shows to consider. As a rule, a single no show wouldn’t necessarily rule out a gent for me. One that was discussed in these forums in London as a no show by one member, I still decided to chance my arm with. I’m glad I did as he became a favoured regular during my London trips. But a pattern of no shows as seems to be the case with Derek is a huge red flag. As such, I’m content not to pursue engaging him. I can admire online - and, as is often noted in discussions of gents, there are plenty of others. Also, I’m rarely in Vegas so that helps keep the temptation at bay.

Look, you go to Vegas to gamble. If the mood strikes you when there, just hit him up for an immediate appt and view it as a pull of the slot machine. Seems like when he DOES show up, he's good. I didn't try to make a plan for some specific future day since it seemed more likely he wouldn't show. I asked him if he was available in the next few hours and he said yes. I think I had a window with him not a nailed down arrival time but I was okay with that as I was traveling alone and had no other commitments. If you are someone who keeps a tight schedule he's definitely not for you.

I'm not defending his flaking on scheduled appointments, I'm just saying if you want to see him and can do it that way, that would be how I'd suggest you go about it.

Derek Atlas never lost his wife (actually his baby-mamma since I don't believe they are married). I think any woman would have dropped him a long time ago if he were not so good looking. Thank you for correcting me; I am glad she came to her senses. I was thinking that she had not left him because while Derek was in upstate NY on parole her linkedin ad had her living in upstate NY. I thought she was following the "Stand by your man" lyrics.

Derek's half-brother has a hot body but I don't think his face is as handsome. When Derek was born his father was just 15 years old - already not the best start in life. Then at an early age he got into drugs.
