I am not sure how some people are going to stay afloat. People were having trouble making ends meet to begin with. I work for myself and I thought it would not effect me but I have had a couple jobs cancelled already as a result.

I was just getting ready to get a massage after finally catching up after the holidays. I guess we will have to just take a wait and see attitude.

I have thought about that as well. I have one particular regular who I am definitely going to give him something extra when I return.

If he is your regular masseur, why not give it to him now , instead of when you return? Now is when he probably needs it, since his business is probably down. Then tell him you have a credit when you do return. That would be a nice gesture, something our regular masseurs need at this time now that their business has slumped. They have rent to pay, food to buy, etc. An advance payment would help them out.

I have purchased some gift cards from the supermarkets and sent them to a few of my hires. Not expecting anything in return, just remember being extremely short on funds and being hungry during my college years (and it was not spent on booze). I was most thankful for the occasional friend who would notice and buy me a meal.

That's a good point. Thanks for that feedback.

I am going to act on this tomorrow. Thanks for planting the seed.

With all of the unknowns about contagion it seems wise to be extra careful about hiring guys you don’t know. My go to guys are fanatics about hygiene anyway and are just as concerned about clients. For me the best option is to put a hold on unknowns and just talk about it with your regulars. Communication and mutual respect wins the day.

I asked one of my regulars if he’d like an N95 respirator and he was very grateful. At a local spot yesterday an array of friends and acquaintances got together, mainly younger. We all elbow bumped. I’m not sure I’ll be going out much in the next few weeks, though. I’ve got a pile of unread books to wade through.

Thank you. I needed to read this.

I’m part of the at-risk (over 50s) population so not hiring until things calm down. Recession might come over, so better to save money for necessary goods and services. I think cautions are mostly on our side given that most escorts (30 and younger) are not at high risk. They should still have some clients in their 40s or 30s and be ok. With social distancing, Onlyfans, JustforFans, porn websites and the like must be seeing some additional income during quarantine time.

They aren't high risk from a mortality perspective, but they catch it and spread it like anyone else. Even worse, since symptoms for them tend toward flu or cold like, they might mistake what they have and carelessly spread it. Social distancing is critical right now and it isn't just for people over 60 or with compromised immune systems or other chronic illnesses that make them vulnerable.

One saving grace, maybe, is that people who are asymptomatic appear to very rarely shed. Which is why checking temperatures became a rapid response action to identify and isolate suspect cases. If you start checking temps, 97.9 Fahrenheit is the better average for a modern human in a developed nation like the USA. In other words, 98.7 is a very mild fever.

China is finally not fucking around and what they're doing is very harsh by Western standards, but they do not want more economic damage from this novel coronavirus. If Americans don't take the call to socially distance seriously, we will probably have national guard deployments and forced quarantines if things get bad enough given how intense the panic has been so far. It's finally forcing politicians to act and with a national emergency, our authoritarian president has very broad powers.
