How do you navigate hotels that require a room key to access the elevator to guest rooms? Being on business trip attempting to hire an escort with coworkers on your same floor is difficult enough but additionally having to go to lobby to “pick up” the escort could be downright awkward when trying to stay discreet and avoid coworkers who could be roaming the halls and lobby at any given time.

thoughts ? Advice ?

Leave a second room key with reception in the escort’s name. If the escort does not want to give the name on his government issued-ID (although they seldom ever ask me for one) just tell reception you have a guest coming and they’ll give your name and room number upon arrival. Granted you booked the room for two and not one and are allowed a second person in the room. Easy.

You can imagine we’ve dealt with a lot of whimsical scenarios. Reception ask very few questions. They know what’s going on.

Meet him in the bar... people casually talk to strangers there and it would not arouse suspicion in onlookers. Ask him to follow you when you leave. If the elevator is empty then give him a big sloppy kiss for the benefit of security cameras in the elevator ceiling. If someone you know gets in the elevator with both of you just ride up together silently.

I was at a multi-day conference with several coworkers and checked in at the same time as one of them. The front desk put us in adjacent rooms and i was expecting a couple of guests and hoping to make lots of noise. As soon as we both opened our doors I “smelled cigarette smoke” and went back down to the front desk to change rooms.

I'm not as adventurous. Were I in those circumstances where encountering coworkers is a high probability, I would either seek an in-call provider or put my libido on the back burner.

Meet in lobby, acknowledge each other with a nod, head into the elevator together, make sure the coast is clear as he follows you to the room, go in together - if you run into co-workers / friends - it happens - have the pro make a loop / grab ice / go to vending machine and come back to your room when clear - you can crack door of / be waiting close behind door to make his entrance quick and sneaky

Or get him a second key...

Complicated or fun? Lol

Complicated. “Hot” scenarios, I suppose...but no reputable hotel’s security is letting a “pizza man” or a man in a Halloween costume (uniform, lol) go upstairs.

-An escort who likes to eat and whose Uber Eats food always gets stopped at reception.

Just leave a damn key lol.

Life is as complicated as we make it.

@kaboom35 Hotels requiring a key to access the elevator is not a new thing and it's becoming more and more common, with some hotels even requiring a key card to enter the premises after 11 PM.

Just talk to the reception and tell them to give your key to your friend coming to visit you as @hypothetically says or meet him discreetly at the elevator. It's not a big deal! Tell him you might have coworkers around you and he must dressed and talk in a discreet way just in case...

I know escorts who simply wait a minute and tailgate their way to the floor where the client is staying. The Grand Hyatt in Stockton St San Francisco not only requires a card but if you're staying on the 28th floor your card only works for that precise floor. I had an escort who got my room sweaty, he ran into the elevator with someone else and took a ride to the 15th floor, later on he took the stairs to the 28th. Yes, the exit stairs didn't require a card.

You guys are making it way more complicated than it needs to be lol.

Maybe some on here overthink things... I guess we have careers and reputations to worry about. Guilty as charged! But even now a days in this puritan side of the pond there are subjects that must be kept in a discreet way.

Personally I'd rather a guy hiring while on a business trip instead of looking who's on grindr in the office, dating coworkers, hitting the interns, etc.

I have a feeling you've done this before...!

My approach with my rather limited experience:

Settle in at a table or couch in the lobby. Keep an eye on the main entrance. When the big guy with muscle walks in, stand up, shake hands, greet him with a friendly smile, sit and chat a bit, then head up to the room. If you and he are halfways personable, it should all look perfectly natural.

Prolly a different story if you have co-workers traipsing back and forth in the same lobby, tho.

Just meet him in the lobby. Or at a public place just outside.

Unless its a tiny boutique hotel, no one's gonna notice you.

And, there's the additional benefit of venue-screening. A scamner, with very old ad-pictures, or the recent addition of 65 lbs of flab or swastika face tattoos, wont meet you in the lobby. Neither will the guys who intend to rip you off. All of the above types rely on the privacy of your room to intimidate your cash into their pocket. A good guy wont hesitate to meet you in the lobby, or by the Starbucks on the corner.

I admit: I like meeting in public. I like seeing a good looking guy on the move, how he carries himself, are heads turning.... Every recent Las Vegas hire, I've met in the casino before going up to my room. Every recent home hire, Ive met on the street outside a coffee shop on my corner.

I would meet in the lobby.

I usually tell co-workers before the evening that I have plans to meet a college friend (or former neighbor) for dinner, so they don't expect me to join them for the evening. If we bump into them in the lobby, I start to head out the door with the escort as if we're going to eat and then say, "oops, I don't have my wallet, it is up in the room. Can we run up there to get it?"

I'm only had to use it once, and it worked well.

Your co-worker: Hey buddy your friend from college looked 20 years younger than you!

You: Oh I started late, got left back about half a dozen times in grammar school, and I took a "gap decade" between HS and college! :p

Edit: Sorry didn't notice misuse of you're / your. Getting so senile. :(

I'm headed out on a business trip in a couple days to DC. I'm considering hiring while out there. I'll be traveling with 8 co-workers. My usual trick is to be the last to check in & tell the front desk I don't want my room near theirs. I think I've only stayed in a hotel that required a key for the lift once, I met my guy outside, chatted for a minute then went up. I saw a co-worker in the lift, chatted with him on the ride up, my guy was a professional at "not knowing me" , the co-worker didn't have any idea.....I asked him later, we're work bestfriends lol.

I had dinner with a high school friend, on Valentine's Day, in our gay-friendly down. He's aged MUCH better than me. I told him given the date, everyone else in the restaurant would be wondering how a fat old fart like me snagged a young hottie like him.
