Ugly people work harder.

Caesar:

Let me have men about me that are fat,

Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights.

Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,

He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

I like the name Kevin (as in the guy in the original post), so that's always a plus. :D

When I first started looking for my own apartment in Boston post-college, I was fairly clueless as to how to go about it, but I saw an ad for a place I liked and went to the agency that offered it. The agent I talked to was a really cute guy named Michael. After talking to me for a bit to get a sense for what I was looking for and what I could afford, etc, he grabbed a set of keys and told me he thought he had a place I'd like. We walked. I figured it would be in the immediate vicinity - it was actually a ways to get there by foot for someone who didn't yet really know the layout of the city (for those of you that know Boston, it was from an office in Copley to an apartment on Tremont in the South End) but I kept thinking I'd follow this guy anywhere lol.

By the way, yes, I took the place - a cozy, cute studio apartment in the years before the South End got too gentrified to be affordable. Michael seemed very cozy and cute too, though no, I never got to find out how cozy.

A friend in Palm Springs overheard a dinner conversation between two realtors at a restaurant. One was a seasoned agent and the other a much younger and very handsome man, both gay. The younger one asked the older guy “at what point do I have sex with the client to close the deal?”

I'm going to be looking for property in Palm Springs. Do you have the name of the younger guy? LOL!

I have never hired a realtor based on looks, sexual orientation or gender. That being said, several of the agents I have worked with have been gay men, especially here in Palm Springs, where it is hard to find an agent who isn't gay. In my personal experience here, the most attractive agents are often the least experienced....at handling real estate deals.

A little OT. Isn't the OP working for The Agency. They show up in the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Million Dollar Listing. The owner is being sued by an African dictator for 32 million. Apparently the African dictator bought a beautiful mansion in Malibu and the Justice dept forced the sale-as it was ill gotten proceeds. The Agency represented it, sold for 30+ million. What they didn't disclose is that he sold it to himelf-or a partnership company with his friend-did some enhancement and flipped it in a year for 60+ million. sweet 30 million+ profit.

The plaintiff is also alleging they did not convey higher offers. The 32 million was supposed to go to African charity organizations. Instead the Owners wife prances around on the show dripping in Rolexes, Channel , expensive cars etc.

I think it is best to have an ethical, honest real estate agents. This group is reputed to be one of the biggest agencies.

Best to keep work and play separate!

I have seen at least two escorts who are also licensed real estate agents. As long as they are competent and professional, I would not hesitate to hire them (for either task). It's kind of like hiring a really hot personal trainer (as long as they are good at their job) its a bonus if they look great.

Now I haven't thought about trying to negotiate a bonus romp for buying or selling property with them ;)

No but that’s how I pick my barbers.

I spent the night with another guy almost 35 years ago. My regular barber disappeared soon after that. He's been my barber for the last 33 years, but I never slept with him again.

I use the same guy over and over. He's old, probably nearly 80, smart, a great negotiator, and came to the US from Fiji. Ethnically, I think he's Indian, and he has a wonderful British sounding accent.

A couple I knew broke up after one started an affair with the real estate agent who was hired to find them their dream home together.

Well, my fiance and I have looked at houses together on Zillow. I wouldn't do my real estate agent if we're still together when I buy my new house. However, the payment for his last term (Fall) at the university before graduating is coming up soon. I have a feeling I'm going to find out soon if he loves me as much as he says he does. However, I'm seriously wondering if there's a big difference between one real estate agent and another. Since they all seem to work on commission, isn't it in all of their best interests to sell the house at the highest price possible? I'd hire someone different to inspect any house I'm interested, of course. I wouldn't count on my real estate agent to tell me what might need work on the property. Have any of you ever hinted that a romantic romp would motivate you? ;)

Funny episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Jeff Garlin was looking at houses just to fuck the agents, and when his wife figured it out she made him buy the most expensive/ridiculous house even though he had no intention of actually buying one.
