Unfortunate Incident with an Escort in Amsterdam

I'll have to disagree. The escort was obviously trying to scam @matt842 from the beginning. I would have been very reluctant to pay. It also takes two to tango. The escort is responsible for the time as well as the client. It's up to the escort to say "We are heading past our agreed time to end. Did you want to extend?"

 

The only thing I'm still having trouble with is mistaking 4 hours for one hour. If I were that jet lagged, I'm not sure I would have been coherent at all. And I probably wouldn't have been hiring.

What portion of the night were you actually spending quality time together verses his constant showering and distraction?

I’m probably weird, but even though I travel to all parts of Europe, I rarely see a provider. I don’t want ANY drama to interfere with my time abroad. I had an experience in Budapest years ago that scared the shit out of me.

I'm shocked that some folks put the responsibility on you. It's pretty clear to me that there was no keeping him to an hour. He was there for a big payday and he was going to get it through any means, up to and including threats. If an escort wants to trick you and be deceptive to get more time out of you, then the breach of the contract was his. As far as going to the ATM, my lord....no telling what would have happened had you done that. You should count your personal safety on the fact that you didn't.

 

I, personally think that drugs are bad news and the folks that do them are bad news. If you're after learnings from this experience, I would consider reviewing your own standards as far as escorts who use drugs, and/or what your response will be in the future if drugs come up again. But that's me projecting my own concerns. Everyone reacts differently to PnP.

Thank you, @OrdinaryJoe. Honestly, I was just coming here to tell what happened and ask for some advice. I didn't expect a bunch of sympathetic responses, especially because I realize that I should have been more proactive when it came to monitoring the time that had passed. However, I didn't expect the responses telling me I should have paid him the extra 300 Euros. Going to an ATM in the middle of the night would have put me at even greater personal risk, especially because he had been tinkering with his phone a lot during the session and after he told me I owed him 450 Euros. For all I know, there could have been someone else waiting at the ATM. Beyond that, paying him money that was beyond what we had discussed would have just encouraged him to do this again with another client.

I agree. That's why I refused his offer to take his pills, and why I told him I did not want to take his "speed pill" in my room. This was in Amsterdam, but I had not had any soft drugs or pot in the hours or days before this incident happened, just a few Heinekens earlier in the evening. I have never done anything beyond pot, especially with a stranger.

In the interest of keeping the original post from getting more lengthy than it already was, I didn't include this. Of the approximately 4 hours we spent together, I would say a little less than 1.5 hours was quality time. He spent a lot of time asking me personal questions which, thankfully, I only answered vaguely. He also talked a lot about what past clients of his liked to do, how he liked to indulge fetishes and fantasies. He also wanted to "take a break" a few times during the session.

Thank you, @5280Dane. I'm amazed at how many commenters seem to have read into my comments that I thought we had only been together for an hour. My ability to monitor time might have been lacking, but so are their reading comprehension skills, apparently. It's pretty apparent to me that this guy was very good at extending a session by talking a lot and talking very slowly, and I am sure that some of the same people criticizing me for letting things go so long would have ended up in the same situation if they had not been monitoring the time. I have never checked time during a massage or escort session, because I always considered that the provider's responsibility. From now on, I will.

@LookingAround, there was a bit of action during the session, but a lot of it was dominated by conversation between us, him going on Grindr, him using his phone for who knows what (but always excusing himself after), him asking me to order a bottle of wine, me trying to call room service, him telling me to try the front desk, me calling the front desk and being told room service was closed and nothing could be sent up, him taking what he called a "short shower," him talking about his plans to go to a sex club after our session, him trying to get me to go to a sex club with him, him talking about taking other clients to sex clubs, and describing in detail the fun he had had at a sex club the night before. I have had 4 hour flights pass by very quickly thanks to conversation. So, yes, the four hours with him did pass by very quickly, and I had no clue. I am sorry you have a hard time believing that. There are, in fact, two sides to every story. I would rather not know his, because I am sure there are a lot of things going on with him that would make me regret having contacted him even more than I already do.

 

Since there is a union for sex workers there - Proud the Dutch Union for Sex Workers - maybe you could contact them and report his unprofessional behavior?

I emailed them the day after this happened but have not received a response. According to their website, they have limited hours for phone contact and can take a few days to respond. I suspect his statement that he had talked to them was a lie unless he had a private line to them.

This is a great question, @rvwnsd. There was no indication in our pre-session correspondence that things might go wrong. He was willing to be flexible in our meeting time based on my availability, and he seemed to be very accommodating.

Looking back, I regret having hired him and not monitoring the time so things went as long as they did. I do not regret the way I responded to his demand for 450 Euros for the session or his threats. I would regret it if I had paid him the amount he demanded.

I only read this thread today and probably about 80 percent of the posts. Enough to get the drift of the incident and the reactions of others.

 

The one cardinal thing to keep in mind at all times in hiring is that after all is said and done, the fees are based on the time spent with the escort. Some escorts even emphasize we are only paying them for their time and that whatever happens during that time is between two consenting adults.

 

The other thing I always do whether at home or when travelling is to have a few hundred extra so that if things go overtime, which can happen if I am having a good time, then there is no issue about how to pay the fee. The last thing I want to do is get out of bed and go looking for an ATM in the middle of the night.
