Huw Edwards did nothing illegal, the police have said they are not interested. Maybe he was unwise but who hasn’t been unwise? I don’t think it is any business of anyone else’s what he does with his money and in his non work time. He’s not a politician he’s a journalist so there isn’t really any public interest in it. As long as he’s doing nothing against the law then he can do what he likes. Including paying silly money for pictures of an adult. I’ll sell him some of mine at those rates 🙂. Unfortunately for him the desire of some parts of the media industry to destroy the BBC has driven them to publish something that is not worthy of the attention it is seemingly getting. I bet plenty of those high profile people who are lining up to criticise him secretly think ‘there but for the grace of God go I”…. I’m not surprised he’s suffering mental health issues because it must be stressful for him being the centre of this circus. I hope he gets good help and can come back to do what he’s good at.

Is it a known risk to schedule for an hour?
+ Jamie21 replied to Kevin Slate's topic in Questions About Hiring
I agree with @AJDalton it’s not good form to cancel a client because something better or more lucrative has come along. I’ve not done it (although I’ve never had something where the financial incentive is so compelling to do so!). I have occasionally asked already booked clients if they can move their session forward or backwards by half hour or an hour so that I can accommodate another request but if the first come client says no then I honour their original booking. People book an hour to see whether they like you. It’s a more cost effective way to try out before booking longer. I’d rather have a regularly returning 1 hour client than a once off longer client. So I think it’s good business to be respectful and honour those who have already booked, even if it’s an hour because you never know: they could become a regular. My business is sustained by regulars. The other point to note is that I get disappointed when clients cancel a booking, so I really don’t want to be doing it to them unless of course it’s unavoidable (sickness or something like that). -
No regrets. I love doing it. It can be challenging though, and impacts your sex life. I think you need to be mentally strong, and keep a sense of perspective. It’s not a ‘normal’ job.
-
I charge more for out calls. That factors in the travel time. If it’s beyond my normal out call rate area then I’ll quote a rate that takes into account the travel time and costs. Then it’s up to my client whether they’re prepared to pay it or not. If they are, then we have a deal. If the travel time exceeds 90 minutes each way then it’s usually not viable for them.
-
And then there’s being hired, confirming all ok with the client before setting out, going to the address the client gave you, arriving on time and then being told by the client that he’s not ready for 15 minutes, waiting around for him to be ready…only then to have the client ghost you and switch off his phone. Presumably because he’s changed his mind…. And what’s worse is doing that with another sex worker because the client wanted the two of you. No deposit paid or anything and both of us having travelled to him and wasted our time. We waited another 10 minutes just in case he was genuine, and then gave up and went for breakfast together (the guy I was working with was a friend). We waited too long. I was also naive then because I didn’t notice the signs he would flake (there were lots). Now I know better I wouldn’t wait longer than 5 minutes without a clear message. It works both ways, provider or client should be on time, if they’re not they should message the other person and agree a revised time if possible. Otherwise cancel it.

When I posted my original comment I did say ‘most people’. I didn’t say ‘you’. My perception is that it does apply to most people. This issue reminds me of the Ricky Gervais ‘guitar lessons’ joke.

Leaving the market to those who logically decide they can afford it.
-
I keep saying. The price a guy charges is totally up to him. It’s what he values his time at. It’s got nothing to do with your perception of value except if your perception equals his then you might hire him. If he values himself so high that no one hires him then that’s his problem not yours.
-
Not worked up about it are you…. And you choose not to pay it. Like I said 😉
-
I think the reason most people get worked up about rates being ‘over priced’ or ‘not good value’ is because they can’t afford them. The rate someone charges is entirely up to them. You can choose to pay it or not, that’s entirely up to you. If there’s a market it will happen.
-
Charge your normal rate. Because although he has said now that he doesn’t want any sexual activity that is highly likely to change, either at the first session or subsequent ones. In that situation, if you have discounted, it’s not easy to then charge the normal rate again. His expectations are set and if sexual activity did occur he’d possibly think it was because you were happy to do that outside of any transactional service. That all becomes very difficult. If he books you at the normal rate and expects to pay it, and nothing sexual happens then you do have the option of giving him say 20% back after he’s paid you if you want to. Then you’re in control of the rate.

If you want to do BB you should be on PrEP, never mind the escort…that’s his responsibility. I’m on PrEP, almost every sex worker I know is on it too. It’s just sensible to use it if you’re having sex regularly (even ‘safe’ sex). Here in the UK it’s prescribed on the NHS so I get it free, and I get a free check up every 3 months. It’s fantastic. Ask him if he’s ok to do BB, he’ll tell you. Sometimes I think clients are embarrassed or think it’s disrespectful to ask questions like that but it really isn’t. No experienced sex worker will find questions like that a problem. So just ask him outright. I prefer it if clients are clear with me about what they want.

Have You Recorded Videos with Your RentMan?
+ Jamie21 replied to phiggins's topic in Questions About Hiring
No I’m jesting. It does happen by accident though sometimes and I’m ok with that because if I didn’t want that to happen I wouldn’t put it there in the first place! Usually it’s by design. -

Assuming escorts are always hosting…
+ Jamie21 replied to TallMuscl37's topic in Questions About Hiring
Most problems with hookups or paid meetings are caused by misunderstandings through poor communication. It’s rarely intentional although it might feel like that it’s almost always because something has been assumed or something has been missed by accident. I get clients assuming all sorts of things even though I think it’s clear on my profile and website. I get a few who contact me thinking I’m female…imagine the surprise they’d get if I didn’t correct them and they turned up at my studio for a massage? Although I reckon I could turn them once they get on the table 🙂 -
Usually quite well

Think of it this way, if you didn’t tell a provider something because you were worried it might mean he declines you how comfortable would you feel when actually meeting him? Aside from medical conditions that might mean he declines you (for example I won’t see clients who have a medical condition that is a contra indication for massage) if you’re seeing a serious provider then he won’t be concerned about things like age, body size etc that you might be concerned about. It really isn’t a consideration for good providers. I do like clients to share anything they’re concerned about because then I can reassure them that it doesn’t matter. But if they just want to give their name when booking and nothing else then that’s fine too. The only thing that I think is too much information is a picture. But that’s just because clients who send pictures tend to not end up as bookings. They either never get around to confirming or they cancel or no show on the day.

I’ve had clients ask me to film on their phone, which I’m happy to do. It’s just some POV filming, usually of penetration…everyone seems to like watching a cock slide in their ass lol. I wouldn’t agree to filming the whole session or to faces being shown. Filming the session, even part of it is a distraction so if they do want a film or pics then it’s just say a couple of pics or 20 seconds of video. If they want the whole session filmed that’s a different proposition because in those situations I use the film for my fans site (justforfans etc) and they need to: a) agree to it being published and sign a release form and b) provide ID. Most people don’t want to do that which is understandable. In the filmed sessions I use 3 or 4 filming cameras, lights etc and we have to wear masks or obscure faces and think about camera angles and getting cum shots right etc so it’s not really a relaxing session. But some guys do have a desire to be in a porn movie so it’s really about satisfying that urge. -
Most clients contact by text or WhatsApp but some (especially older ones) like to call and have a conversation. It’s fine, I answer them if I’m able to but many times I’m not free to take a call. Clients are reluctant to leave a message on my voicemail so I can’t call them back (and I wouldn’t do so anyway without their agreement to receive a return call). So whilst it’s fine to make a call as the initial contact I’d advise clients to text first because many guys wouldn’t or can’t answer, especially if it’s from a withheld number. If you text and agree a time to call then it’s more likely he’s able to answer it. I really don’t like discussing services with clients whilst I’m on the train or in a social situation and I’m sure I’m not unusual in that.

Yes, the massage porn is generally more explicit. The massage work is much more intimate and erotic. It is possible to make massage films that are true to the private in person massage experience but the market for that kind of movie is I think smaller than the kind of films I make which are basically a massage that ends up with someone getting fucked lol.
-
I have an Onlyfans and a JustforFans, although I don’t promote my ‘in person’ massage work on the fans sites and on my RentMasseur profile and massage website I don’t mention the fans sites. I try to keep them both separate because I think it’s mostly a different market. However some clients have found the fans sites and made the connection, and some guys who subscribe on the fans sites have booked massages with me. I don’t mind that but overall I think the porn films I make aren’t really reflective of the massage work if that makes sense.

I really don’t think you’re in a position to assert this. Of course you’re entitled to have an opinion and to share it…but I’ll challenge it. I think you’re making a lot of misguided assumptions about the motivations of escorts and sex workers. Until you’ve done the job I don’t think you can expect your opinion on the motivations and actions of sex workers to have as much credibility as those who actually do the work. I do the work and I can say that the physical characteristics of the client is irrelevant. That’s the skill of the job; finding attraction in anyone, and those that work in the business know it.

I’m not bothered what names we attach to it but what I do care about is the interesting and respectful debate about topics we have a shared interest in. If we weren’t interested in sex work (from either side of the perspective: hirer or provider) then we wouldn’t be here. What keeps me here is the different perspectives of people who share my interests (plus it’s good for business of course!). I like that there are a range of opinions and that on the whole people who participate debate the subject rather than resort to ad hominem criticism. I don’t engage on Twitter for example because it rapidly descends into personal abuse. On here that doesn’t happen so much, probably because it’s well administered and I think the participants feel a sense of ownership. That’s extremely valuable! Worth looking after and nurturing.
