I always admired his videos and I agree it was a great way to screen potential hires. You could tell which guys were going through the motions, and which guys were actually into it. I feel your pain. I loved poppers. It got to the point where I was using them regularly even just to jerk off. Of course, the effect wains and I needed more and more for less and less. In addition since I’m a top, I had to be very careful about regulating my use of them. Add to that some reports of retinal damage in men who use poppers, and I decided I had to quit.... before I went blind (maybe Mom was on to something there....) I threw out every last bottle and made sure I was in an environment where is wasn’t so easy to get them on the spur of the moment. At first I craved them pretty bad. I did the usual addict behavior like looking for the one hidden bottle, checking the trash to make sure there wasn’t one there, going online and looking at bottles for sale, intentionally seeking the bottoms I knew who used them.... After a month or so I was fine and felt kind a foolish about the whole thing. Now, I don’t mind if my bottom wants/needs them, but it’s really easy for me to abstain. I wish you luck. Trust me, you’re better off without them.

Sorry, but that this information is incorrect. The original amyl nitrite in break open vials (hence the name “poppers”) were for treating angina (chest pain) and occasionally as part of a cocktail used to treat cyanide poisonings. There are now better medications for both so you rarely see real amyl nitrate poppers anymore. You are thinking of an ammonia based product (aka “smelling salts”) that also comes in glass vials that gets broken and placed under patient’s nose to provide a noxious stimuli that “awakens” them when they pass out. It provides no clinical benefit. Since it is essentially useless (and has the unpleasant side effect of making the whole room smell like shit) you rarely see it any more either.

I think you just described 80% of the personal trainers in NYC. They might not all do it. And they certainly don’t all do it for all of their clients. But most do it for some of their clients.

If you’re not a cis-gendered female, I don’t see why that article would color your decision to use Descovy or not. It’s all about the FDA getting pissed that they didn’t include cis-gendered females in their study. Fair enough, but it doesn’t invalidate their findings. It just limits the generalizations you can make to the population as a whole. There is little reason to believe it won’t protect cis-gendered females, but the drug company choose to punt on the topic. Unfortunately, it looks like the FDA panel is trying to punish them for this, and thus potentially keeping the drug out of the hands of patients that it HAS been proven to protect. It’s gender politics....masquerading as science.
