Picking a family member as executor should be as carefully done as anything else. Most people automatically choose a sibling or an adult child for the role, but I didn't have that option, since I had no siblings, and mine was a childless same-sex marriage. Give out a phone number for texting. I find it frustrating when the only way to contact is through a message board. Learn to block numbers on your phone. Don't put up with pic collectors and endless back and forth.
Truth in advertising: Be honest about your health status, age, size, etc., so there's no surprises when the client opens the door. 
Save your money. Eventually you'll either grow tried of the crap that comes along with this profession, or age out. Have a plan.
