Shawn Monroe reacted to + Vegas_Millennial in Are you a cop?
The topic of suspected law enforcement showing up pretending to be a client or an escort has been discussed here dozens of times (that I can remember) in various threads. I don't remember who shared it, but the best advice I heard was:
When you or he shows up for the appointment, immediately start with a long passionate kiss when the door is first opened. That SHOULD be enough to guarantee that the other person is not an undercover cop.

Yes. Labs and doc visits are not new. PrEP has always been this way... For well over a decade. It requires some legwork, like many drug regimes.
It's a simple daily pill... Not all that difficult to obtain or maintain.
Some insurers will do 90-day supplies. Traveling guys should have little issue getting it, especially with nationwide networks of pharmacies. Not everything needs to be mailed.
There's also PrEP in injectable form. It's long-lasting and effective.
Where you seem to constantly see issues, other people see solutions.

Providers take PrEP for their own benefit, not for their clients. They do not want to contract HIV. Clients should also act in their own interests, not those of others unless the two coincide.

Take responsibility for your own health.
Mature, responsible adults do.

Shawn Monroe reacted to + Jamie21 in Starting Massage as a Side Hustle
Even if you consider it a ‘side hustle’ you’ll need to be utterly professional in your approach: get decent pics done (not phone selfies), advertise your service (and like @ApexNomadsaid, know what your USP is), be available when clients want you which might be difficult if you’re doing full time work. You’ll need to be flexible with your time otherwise you’ll be turning a lot of clients down. Price your services correctly to fit your chosen market. Have a professional set up with a good table, proper oils etc. Be on time, reliable, consistent and customer oriented. In other words don’t treat it like a side hustle.
How do I know? I’ve been doing it for 7 years, have lots of regular clients, and great reviews on RentMasseur. Good luck, it’s a fantastic job if you put the effort in.

I’ll speak strictly as a client—so I defer to the professionals who actually do this for a living, but I’ll say this: If you’re offering a service, especially one where people are paying you for your time, body, and energy, then you need to communicate why someone should choose you.
Right now, this reads more like a fantasy than a business. You mention being turned on by the idea of getting paid, but from a client’s perspective, that doesn’t tell me what I’m getting in return. What makes you good at this? What’s your style, your vibe, your niche? Is it sensual, therapeutic, deep-tissue, connection-based? Are you intuitive, strong-handed, good with nervous clients? Etc.
This might be a side hustle for you, but to a client spending real money, it’s not a side experience. So if you’re serious, advertise with intention. Let us know what makes you worth booking—beyond the fact that you enjoy it.

That’s a shame. I was kind of hoping…

Perhaps it depends on whether it's a masseur or an escort that's doing the asking. I feel that ghosting someone is rude, but it's so fucking commonplace with communication, perhaps I need to start excommunicating someone when I'm asked to send a picture, instead of complying, then getting rejected.
I'm not at all attractive, which is why I'm doing the donating! I'm not implying that every single solitary time I send a picture, a meet-up doesn't transpire, but it is getting more and more common for me to send a photo of myself when I'm asked, and not get a reply back at all, which is what happened to me today. I saw a guy advertising who rocked my world, and had similar sexual interests. Communication was fine, up until I sent a photo, and then, nothing. I reached out a couple of hours later, and now I must chalk it up that he has a visual scale that I fail, so better to be rejected ahead of time then on the day of.

Shawn Monroe reacted to + Vegas_Millennial in "Mixed" listed as an ethnicity being code for circumcised?
No. It means they come from mixed ethnicities.

Shawn Monroe reacted to viewing ownly in "Mixed" listed as an ethnicity being code for circumcised?
Do others make an assumption when someone looks in the face like they're Latino or Eastern European and list "Mixed" as their ethnicity, that it means that they have a cut cock?
I know better than to ask a masseur if he's cut or not, but asking an escort is very fair game if their dick clearly looks like it's wrapped in foreskin, and they in error assume that it's asking them about body type, not penis appearance. Typically if I privately ask someone on here, they don't have a recollection, as the massage was at best all they might remember about if it was from a long time ago.

THIS MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE NOW AS SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN ATLANTA.
it feels like it randomly exploded in the last 1-2 years and so many guys I’ve never seen before.
there are also some surprises-I thought dallas, Houston and Chicago would be higher.
time for me to move again.

Shawn Monroe reacted to Simon Suraci in Male Sex Work US Market Data
I’ve been using ChatGPT to analyze US markets. It’s fascinating! I came up with this graph by sourcing data from RentMen ads and the US census. I have my gut feelings on various markets, but some of these surprised me. Others did not.
Places like Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Boston are more relatively saturated than New York City and Los Angeles. Places like San Jose and Columbus have relatively low saturation which confirms my experiences in those places. Orange County is an outlier. Maybe certain cultural factors and cost of living are a heavier influence there.
This graph grossly oversimplifies the many factors that make a city relatively more or less saturated with male sex workers, but it’s an interesting read. My criteria limits cities to those having greater than 100,000 people. Some cities are not included because data was unavailable. The graph does not take into account metro areas, only cities, which may significantly change the results. That will have to be another study needing more input and refinement.

Shawn Monroe reacted to + ApexNomad in Providers sharing pet peeves.
I’m not sure I’m fully following how this ties into the topic of provider pet peeves. Are you saying that ads with language like naturally born men only or the chastity stuff are turn-offs for you when you’re browsing providers? Just trying to understand the connection a bit better.

Shawn Monroe reacted to Simon Suraci in MF providers: what % of clients want extras?
95% sounds about right. But that’s mostly in line with how I market myself, so my experience will reflect the clients drawn to my services.
By extras, I assume covers a whole range from people that just like some mutual nudity, to mutual touching, all the way to people expecting or demanding full service for a massage fee (and those asking or willing to pay more for it).

Shawn Monroe reacted to acks0104 in Poor Communication
Believe people when they show you who they are. He's showing you he only wants to see you when he feels like it and when it's convenient for him. If that's the level of respect and professionalism you're interested in, then hey, go for it. Some men do not mind hot messes but each to their own

Shawn Monroe reacted to + ApexNomad in Poor Communication
Time’s a luxury we all can’t afford to waste, so why keep engaging with someone who doesn’t seem to value it? It’s like giving your energy to something that’s never going to give back.

And the cockroaches scatter to the corners of the room….
Welcome @Devah! Bold of you to join.
Clients: I encourage you to keep an open mind and engage with him. I’ve spoken with Devah on the phone and can vouch he is one beautiful and unique soul. Alternative in many ways. He’s not like a lot of others you discuss here. We have very different ideas about how we approach business, the services we offer, how we offer them, and that’s ok.
I would be careful with your accusations of “fraud” without any receipts to back it up. We providers could say the same of countless clients ghosting us, stiffing payment, or mistreating us in some other way, but we don’t.
Chat with Devah. Ask questions. He’s a really interesting guy. Remember the golden rule: treat others the way you want to be treated.

Shawn Monroe reacted to pubic_assistance in What’s mutual touch to you?
Bisexual men understand this dance. I was always taught to be a gentlemen with the ladies and never push myself on them. Same goes for erotic massage. Make your desire known but allow your provider to make the moves.
