After first eliminating their budget for clothing and costume design, it seems the Bel Ami studio has sharply cut back the budget for furnishings and decor. I believe this scene is set in Cape Town as I met these guys while shopping there. Given that local production costs are so reasonable, I’m very disappointed that Bel Ami has lowered its standards. Maybe you did @alrajee and maybe you glimpsed his real character. My own inclination is always to give a guy a 2nd chance.
