What people self-report doesn't matter. I assume by default that everyone is positive and take precautions. You're the only one that knows what you're doing to protect yourself.

It’s not demanded. Many don’t report. Or they say “ask me”
And guys on RM are not “employed,” they are “engaged” as contractors. Labor laws do not apply to contractors.
But I think the question here is “if they do report, should they be truthful”
My interpretation of the consensus so far appears to be that “yes”

#1. But, I really don’t have much confidence in the reliability of most of the responses. Despite RMs tepid reassurances to the contrary, they really have no way to validate the posted self descriptors. Ultimately, safety is our own responsibility.

Hi all.
Above is yet ANOTHER EXAMPLE of why seasoned clients STRONGLY RECOMMEND NEVER GIVE DEPOSITS!
I've hired many, many times and have never provided a deposit. And I never will.
warm regards to all,
Josh
PS to Throwaway acct: I'm sorry you have had to experience this!

josh282282 reacted to SecretProvider in What went wrong?
Because I have time today, The red flags listed:
- I'm new. (for reasons mentioned above)
- creating a new profile to reach out. (this is often done by spam bots who create new accounts daily, or seasoned tire kickers who know if we see how old/visit the profile they have had means they wouldn't be messaging this way if they were genuine.)
-Not answering the very simple yet important question, which had to be asked THREE TIMES - what do you want to do? What do you get into? What do you like to do when it comes to gay sex? (could be answered in a non-explicit way, although to be fair I despise when people answer with 'i'm looking to have fun' because what the hell does that mean) For me this was the biggest red flag.
- asking questions that are already answered on his profile no1 - (do you do bb) listed on our profiles as safe only/ask me/anything goes. Maybe this provider had 'ask me' as his answer but the following two points would suggest that is not the case.
- asking questions that are already answered on his profile no2 - (are you neg) If he has taken the time to set up a new profile to reach out, why wouldn't he have read the providers stats? He was elongating the conversation for interaction.
- asking questions that are already answered on his profile no3 - asking the provider what THEY are into (this a common theme for the tire kickers trying to elicit free conversation of sexual nature. You tell us what YOU like, what we 'like' other than getting paid is irrelevant and the truthful answer is probably not fucking you)
- asking sexual questions with obvious answers - do you like to breed. (find me one top who would say 'no i hate it')
- He asked about traveling and hosting, despite later saying he only wanted to travel. Why would he ask about both if he only wanted one. If he wanted the provider to host he would have said "i am looking for someone to host, where are you located?' (example of elongating conversation instead of making a booking)
- "and other services?" This is a classic way to get conversation instead of booking. Real client would say 'i saw you list available for videos, can i ask what you allow?" or " i would be really interested in filming some of our encounter, is that included in a session?" these questions would provide an answer, but that is not what he wanted - he wanted to explore conversations ABOUT making videos, rather than meeting and actually doing it.
I hope this illustrates more about how the language of his texts were trying to get a conversation rather than firm down a booking. Does only one of these things mean automatic red flag block and ignore? Of course not. But the sum is greater than the parts, and after a while you start to be able to spot them easier.

josh282282 reacted to Nue2thegame in Delays in appointments, when to throw in the towel?
I would and have previously done exactly what you did for a first time date. If circumstances permit, I’m ok with indulging a modest (30 minute) delay but if it’s repetitive and no explanation is offered I’m done with him. He is telling you loud and clear that he has little respect for your time and will likely be establishing an unhappy precedent if continued. I may have missed some good opportunities with my approach but I doubt it.

Oh no! This topic again. He can charge whatever he thinks he’s worth. It’s entirely up to him and his definition of his value. You don’t have to pay it. You might want to hire him but if you don’t want to pay his rate too bad! You can’t afford him. Buy a cheaper guy and see how good he is.
If you think it’s an easy overpaid job why not set up yourself? See how easy it is. What price would you put on yourself for an hour of doing escort work (don’t forget to add in all the hidden costs - time spent trying to look good, being available 24/7, handling time wasters, advertising, paying for the benefits that employees get as part of their job, taking risks with your sexual health….). Now his rate doesn’t seem so unreasonable does it…

This right here is EXACTLY it. The near 100% certain outcome with the addict. You may have a good experience and leave them a 5star review because you found them on a lucky day, or they may let you down miserably. They can’t help it.

Hi JB_Studio38/ Mocha/Jarrod_uncut (and all the other names you have had on this platform in the past- there have been many)
No. I, and my fellow client colleagues, are not willing to be "on call" with money for you when escorting is not working out financially for you. Although I do NOT wish you or any other escort financial harm, we are not responsible for your solvency. But to you and all escorts in the world: I'm hopeful you prosper. You provide a wonderful service to the community.
Ah, you are not satisfied with my advice? Allow me to elaborate. You and I are both business men. Similar fields, albeit with a few differences. I'm a physician. You are an escort. We are both seek to ...heal our clients (or patients). As a physician I have high overhead costs in maintaining my office: support staff salaries, my office rent, my exorbitant malpractice premiums, to name a few, costs which rise yearly which is alarming & frustrating. And just like you, before I take home one dollar, ALL my overhead MUST be paid first. Heck, I was hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical school debt before I even got paid to see my first patient! Yes, I genuinely understand your predicament. I live it daily. But when a business informs the client this is my fee, BUT then says, "oh, I also need a deposit", um, yah, no. Or the escort says, "Oh, I need you to pay my Uber". Also a big Nope. See, all of my overhead AND my own salary AND (this is the critical point I fear you dont understand) the cost of the lost revenue is wrapped up in the fee I charge for that office visit. You think patients call, make an appointment to see me and don't show up? It happens DAILY. Every physician has no-shows. You think patients get a bill (after I provide them medical services) from me and always send a payment? Nope. I get patients who stiff me ALL.THE.TIME. But that loss is factored IN to my fees. That's Business. I don't charge multiple fees. I have protocols that attempt to minimize loss. For example: two no-shows and my staff informs the patient they are discharged from the practice. You think you are the only businessman who takes risks and experiences financial loss? Think again. I don't come to this platform and bitch & whine & come across as a lunatic because my patients stiff me. Rather, I focus on my wonderful patients who stay, pay, and make it all worth while.
To all escorts: keep providing your excellent services. Stay professional. Continue to hone your craft. Keep detailed reports of what's not working. For what's not working focus on strategies to minimize loss and maximize profit. You are an escort to make MONEY - there is nothing wrong with that! So am I. But demanding fees (deposits or Ubers) will ultimately turn away good clients & make you seem unprofessional. Good clients (like me) stay away from escorts like that. Including staying away from JB_Studio38/ Mocha/Jarrod_uncut. Asking for a fee makes you look sketchy. Its a bad look.
Love to all,
Josh

Probably not a good idea, rudeness seems to have become the standard in this thread, and it serves nobody well. There is a serious topic here, and it deserves calm and restrained comments from all sides. Replying to rudeness with more rudeness inflames rather than calms, and calm is what's needed. Rudeness can be called out without resorting to more rudeness to do so. If a level of restraint can't be maintained, the thread ceases to serve any purpose.

Bozo has never met Jacob. and as @Pd1_jap stated it is difficult to discern what is true these days. Without any other facts it really is a "he said/he said" situation. And both the member who wrote the positive review and the member who wrote the negative review have only a handful of posts between them.

However, in general, when trying to deny that you are a drug user, it is not helpful to your case to write in your RM Bio that you are "Into PNP". That's not a good look:
from AI:
PnP stands for "Party and Play," a term primarily used within gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) communities to describe the deliberate combination of recreational drug use with sexual activity. Also known as chemsex, it involves high-risk behaviors and specific substances, often leading to significant mental and physical health risks.

Agreed. Its a warning about professionalism. And just like we have many red flags to scare us off providers, providers do the same. Providers asking for deposits are either scammers or don't have the skills to screen customers in other ways and must resort to deposits
-
josh282282 reacted to + BOZO T CLOWN in *Yet another warning about deposits
In Bozo's years of hiring, he was only asked one time for a deposit. When Bozo informed the provider that a deposit would be a deal-breaker, he relented, and backed off the demand.
When an escort requires a deposit in advance, Bozo uses that as part of the weeding out process. In most mid-to-large size cities, there are so many choices (i.e. on any given day, NYC could have upwards of 400 escorts to choose from). A provider asking for a deposit is simply another tool to use to separate the wheat from the chaff. It's no different than any other criteria - too old, too fat, too skinny, too hairy, too ugly, too much ink, too much foreskin, etc.).
In most metropolitan areas there is absolutely no logical reason to pay an upfront deposit when there are dozens (or even hundreds) of willing escorts who won't make that demand, and can be found by simply flipping to the next page in your city on Rentmen.
