An apt description lol.  I'm in my 40's and last time I was there to hear a bud filling in on the piano I was a "twink " lol, two nattily dressed gents they had to be 85 if a day bought me drinks and had me sit with them etc, think they were just lonely and I kept thinking that'll be ALL of us someday.  They told me back in the day wealthy UESide gents would rent out a floor of their Townhouses for word of mouth "parties" like a bar for the night, guys could gather free of the fear of raids and the vice squad etc, and that's why the place was named that.

Yes, it WAS "the" place in the pre internet and App days, working boys in the front room where you would shop 🙂 , the rear piano lounge for the older gents there just to window shop or wallow in  reminiscences  of their youth sipping their Manhattan's while listening to Cold Porter.  Or if they had $$$, show off the boy they brought that night.  *I started off in the front room, just cruising guys my age, and have now graduated to the back room lol.

I have several older gentleman friends who are overweight or not in good shape, they do little to enhance their appearance and are self-admittedly non desirable, and they ALL hire exclusively Str8 guys to service and play with simply bc to a Str8 guy there is NO diff between THEM and Chris Hemsworth.  They're not into guys.   Good hygiene is pretty much all that matters to them.  It kinda makes sense.

NOW it makes sense!  One of my first jobs as a teen was working in ANDY'S DELI on Amsterdam Av W70's on the corner and HE would come in A LOT. I actually remember him racing in once buying a huge container of Vaseline and racing out.

I hooked up w Danny Summers in LA mid 90's I was in my 20's.  He was very sweet think he said he was in nursing school or something at the time.  BUT the name that jumped out at me was CAL CULVER!  Think I was in 7th Grade summer between 7th n 8th, I have an uncle only about 10 yrs older than me who's an actor, my family drove up somewhere in New England to see him in a play and THERE on the board in the lobby with the actor's photos was Cal Culver!  (I had an instamatic and took a pic of the board, think the name he used was John or Jay?)   I didn't know from porn but there was an adult gay magazine store here (nyc) down on Hudson Street where I would stand outside the window and drool even as a kid, and a shirtless him was in the window on the cover of some dance magazine, I remember looking at it and melting lol and DYING to be old enough to go in but his face was burned in my brain lol.  And there he was in the play with my uncle.  We went outside to a side door to wait for my uncle but oc I couldn't care less all I wanted to see and meet was HIM.  (I just started saying you were very good to everyone who came out so it wouldn't be weird when I said it to him.  My uncle introduced all of us etc only met him for about 40 secs and to this day wish I had the balls to ask for a picture w him!  (how weird would that have been for this kid to ask for a pic just w him lol???)

Question since I'm not a Grindr guy; (tried it briefly until I was at the gym drooling over profiles of 2 hot but headless guys within 50 FEET of me and via the tats was able to pick them out and see the REALITY which was WAY diff lol)   But I am considering hopping back on.
Does Grindr BAN the use of the word GEN in profiles??  And if so are there any other "catch" words to look out for that say a guy is "working"?  Thnx
