I noticed his profile a while ago, but his name put me off considering hiring him.  Why choose "bandit" as part of your name when that basically means thief?  Given he has some positive reviews, I assume that he isn't just a con artist.  Still seems like a strange name to me.

Yes, the devil may be in the details.  For example, there's a world of difference between:
"I am glad you liked me enough to reach out to me again, but I won't be hiring you."
    and
"I really enjoyed our time together, but I'm not in a position to hire you during this visit."
Unless we're dealing with an extremely thin skinned escort, I don't see why the latter response would cause them to refuse a future booking.  The former comes across as a hard dismissal, so if the response is similar to that I'm not surprised that an escort would put the client in the "don't waste my time" category.

This topic has come up many times.  The real answer is that there is no "agreed upon" or standard definition.  If you want to know more about what a specific masseur offers, you need to ask him  and/or check what his clients have had to say about him.

True. It depends on the client and what they want. Everyone is different. Loneliness may factor in, yes, but not always. Some clients really enjoy a longer experience, and you don’t necessarily have to be a lonely person to benefit from hiring, be it short or longer term.
Acting is some component of the work we do, but I do genuinely have some good times with clients. Not to say I would choose to do the work for free or that I am thrilled every single second of every meet, but it’s not all drudgery either.
The way I see it, clients pay for us to be focused on their needs, and minimally concerned with our own. I enjoy bringing pleasure to others. I don’t have to act to be concerned with others’ needs, but it is patient work to set aside my own needs and interests for the sake of someone else’s enjoyment.
One can enjoy his job and be good at it, but at the same time be appropriately compensated for it to make sense for all parties. I see it the same for any other type of job.

Yes this is highly regulated. The Association for Sexwork Knowledge (ASK) has a pamphlet that stipulates the exact content of an erotic massage.
The pamphlet describes that all erotic massages must include at least 3 touches of the client’s genitals (and the final or 3rd touch has to keep hold until the client climaxes or the time runs out). A minimum of one nipple must be tweaked and at least one ball gently cupped or caressed. If the client has a non standard number of nipples or balls the masseur has to ensure that 50% of the total ball / nipples available have to be touched.
Clients with a preference for bum work should indicate this either verbally or by parting their legs wider than table width. If the client does this then the pamphlet requires that the masseur insert a lubed finger (spit acceptable if no lube is available) past the first knuckle.
The pamphlet is called Hire for Intimate Massage. In short it’s the ASK HIM document 😉

I don't think a reply is necessary.  Don't forget that he's a businessman and is sending out texts to attract customers.  It isn't personal.
I would give different advice if you had some particularly intimate exchange, but after one appointment that was just "okay" I don't think the relationship has risen to the level that you have any sort of obligation to respond.  Can you imagine replying to every other business that sends you a notification or email to try to get your money?
If you do want to reply, I think a polite "no, thanks" is the way to go.  There's no reason to string the guy along into thinking that you are a good prospect for the future if you really have no interest in hiring them again.

maninsoma reacted to Jamie21 in Most Annoying Masseur Behavior You've Experienced
I once booked a massage with a masseur at his home, without checking much into his set up or professionalism. I was young and naive, and this was before I actually joined the profession myself (call it my research years).
I turned up at the address given. It seemed ok. The masseur answered the door (I’d seen no pics of him, only a description and an outline of his services). He didn’t match the description but I was too scared to walk away…so I went in. He was very friendly, indeed he was delighted to see me.
I’ve written in more detail about it before so I won’t relay the whole story but the following behaviour occurred:
    - Using his loft (attic), a windowless cramped space accessed from the bathroom by a pull down loft ladder as his massage space. It didn’t quite have the right ambiance.
    - Letting me know, mid massage, that his wife would be home soon and I wasn’t to worry because she couldn’t get up the ladder…
    - Talking almost all the way through about how he wasn’t really gay but he liked massaging guys whilst he was naked.

The massage was mediocre, the ending wasn’t very happy and his wife called up from the bottom of the loft ladder if I’d like a cup of tea.
I didn’t return to him. The tea was too weak.

I have never noticed this before.  How are you determining that this is the case?  There are nearly 300 ads in San Francisco; I certainly don't have the patience to start a list based on one site and compare it to the other site to make sure they match exactly.  The only thing I can say is that I have noticed that sometimes the same person appears more than once in the list, giving the appearance that there are more distinct listings than there are.

I'll give the guy the benefit of the doubt in only one respect: maybe he's not familiar with the area and has no idea how long it takes to walk 7 blocks.  According to Google maps it takes 13 minutes, and I suppose you could have just told him that you'd be there in 15 minutes instead of expecting that he would be intelligent enough to figure out how long it would take you to get there.  That being said, you clearly told him you were walking and then he asked if you were taking a ride share, so he apparently isn't an attentive fellow.  I probably wouldn't have asked him if he was high, but I understand the impetus to cancel.
