Most gay men come back from any family holiday a bit shattered and need some hot dirty sex with a stranger to calm their nerves. So right after Christmas or Thanksgiving are when you find everyone sniffing around.  Obviously NYC is a multicultural city so there's always some holiday going on that somebody's gotta deal with their family. But Thanksgiving tends to be the biggest since it doesn't coincide with a religious calendar.

Positive clients get repeat visits.  Negative clients are one and done.

I don’t speak Japanese and I just turned up at their location (i went to the one called king of college)  in the evening and chose one of the boys among the 15 available on that day. Spending time IS the very best gift. A dinner. A play or concert. By the time we reach the 50+ milestones there’s not a single thing we need. The memory of an enjoyable evening with good company is worth more. A honorary donation to a charity is also a nice gesture.

I fail to understand the issue any longer:
You may ask for a deposit.
The client can refuse.
End stop.  
Badgering the client is not going to change his mind or at the best it places the visit on an adversarial basis.  So continue to ask and continue to get a certain percentage of rejections and stop wondering why or don't ask.  

What's nice about sex parties at the Gugg is that you can hit every group and if you've missed anything, you'll be able to catch it as your spiral your way back down.
