Reminiscent of when someone said my boss was a dumb SOB. I replied, "No, no! He's not dumb."

Hahaha.  I'm rewatching Game of Thrones.  Tywin Lannister said to Tyrion "All my life I thought you were a stunted fool".  Tyrion answered "You were half right".

  2. Two experiences both from the restaurant I worked at in my teens...

    • the dishwasher was helping stir salad dressing in the kitchen, using his whole arm in the huge bin of dressing. I don't remember what kind of dressing it was.
    • A waiter was preparing a tableside Caesar salad and working so hard to impress the two young ladies he was making it for, he dripped sweat into the salad.  They barely touched it.
  3. I use it all the time.  I'm one of the first to get annoyed when friends are on their phones in a social situation. A couple of friends I go camping with every summer have turned into real phone addicts - phone calls with other people while they're sitting around the campfire, etc. That said, I wouldn't find what you did odd, it's part of the table's conversation.

Anyone have any feedback?  I know he used to advertise under a different form of the name Brett but can’t remember what it was. Would love to hear about him!

Ditto, the pics are familiar but he must've changed his name.  He's in Columbus & marked as travel to Detroit - that's a 3 1/2 hour drive.

Apart from ease of finding their ad and being alerted to their ad changes and travel plans, the most significant benefit is that if they change their handle the new one will be in your buddy list. I keep my list at 24 or fewer so they all appear on one page. (You can also keep track of ads by starting a conversation thread in RM messenger. You don't even have to send them a message, simply hitting their 'message me' button will start a thread that will remain in your messenger box, and it will update for any name changes.)

True - I often put the name I originally found them under in the Notes section so I don't wonder "who is this guy and why is he on my list?"  It's also a way to see if one of my all-time favorites, now retired, ever reactivates his ad.

  6. When we moved my father to assisted living, finding a place that would allow his dog Lola (a 90-lb retriever) was an requirement. The residents loved her, and when I visited I'd bring my dog (similar size), and we always spent time in the lobby lounge so residents could see her for a bit. They knew my dog's name but not mine 🙂. The dog requirement limited our choice to just one or two facilities, which is a shame; I understand liability concerns, but the dogs bring so much happiness to the people living there.

Thanks for the input.  I will definitely check-out their wine and be careful of their produce.

The produce (and milk) isn't bad when you get it, it just seems to go bad more quickly. I'll buy it there if I plan to eat it in the next day or so.

  8. I absolutely love ALDI.  Yes, advantage is mostly the price, but one extra perk is that the checkout people always seem pleasant.

I'm addicted to their Winking Owl wine - certainly not the best wine I've ever had, but at $2.99/bottle it's a steal; compares favorably with $15-$2 wines.

I've found their produce and their milk doesn't last as long as from other stores.

I use it as my main grocery store but mostly for staples; they don't carry slightly esoteric items (bread flour, for example).

They have knockoff Girl Scout cookies and their peanut butter patties are excellent.  They use a chocolate rather than a vanilla cookie inside.
