As I am not a resident of Southern Cal I don’t have any restaurant suggestions beyond In & Out by LGB airport, for no other reason except for the hunky UPS men I see eating lunch there. Some of those shorts can barely contain the package(s), whether front or back. It gives “I’ll have a double/double” a whole new meaning. As for me, I like mine with “extra spread”. Happy Birthday, man. 🎂

“Lived To Tell” by D. David Churchill who goes by “Dave Churchill”. A memoir by a gay man who “came of age” in Southern California in the late 70’s/early 80’s before the plague. Fascinating and entertaining. The main focus and meatiest part of the book concerns a 2-month road trip Dave took with 5 other gay men from Laguna Beach, CA all the way to Cocoa Beach, FL - and back. Six gay men - boys, really - in a 1969 Camaro convertible, each with about $250 in cash + OP shorts, Polo shirts and not one pair of underwear between them. They were young, beautiful and delightfully clueless. Upon returning to California they didn’t see each other again, and by the end of the 80’s five of the six would be gone. And Dave Churchill says as much as the book opens. There are some famous names sprinkled throughout, and as a gay man myself who came of age around the same time there is a certain romance in looking back at those days. No worries and no cares and having sex with no fear they used their youth and beauty as their currency, trading good looks and firm bodies for drinks, dinner, drugs, and, oftentimes, a roof over their heads. You’ll relish their freedom and regret what it cost them. The book appears self-published and as such it’s a bit rough, but I thought it was great. I’m currently on my 4th re-read.

Communication, communication, communication. Clear, honest, candid communication. AND you have to listen to what a provider is telling you. I haven’t had a great many disappointments but two “less than stellar” experiences earlier this year were 1) a failure to clearly communicate what I wanted; and 2) a failure on MY part to listen to what the provider was telling me. My latest experience (Nov) was outstanding thanks to the provider’s willingness to listen to me, and MY focus on what the provider was telling me. That resulted in an amazing session. I regularly vet providers here and by messaging clients who have reviewed them at RM. If a provider can’t or won’t reasonably engage with me prior to setting a meet, I move on to the next. If you have a client profile on RM pay attention if they reference things you say you want. This hobby is not “one size fits all” but the preceding is what I have found that works for me.

When I stayed at Desert Paradise they had no problem with guests. Admittedly, this was several years ago and this hotel has had 2 or 3 owners since then. So rules may have changed. Like InnDulge there are several entry/exit points. The manager at the time asked me to walk any guests off the property “when finished” and make sure the gate was closed and locked.

Tonight I had the pleasure of his company. Dude did a great job!

Oh mah sweet Lord in heaven! You remind me of my 1st husband. Dude knew how to cook in the kitchen AND the bedroom. He was so Cajun he needed subtitles when he spoke. We almost broke up when I brought Miracle Whip into his house. (“What in the hell is this abomination in mah icebox?”) I love your recipes; they bring back warm memories of gumbo, stuffed eggs, pimento cheese, and Southern lovin’.

Full disclosure - I haven’t seen Jack in over a year. That said, he remains one of my favorites. He knew how to take care of me and always brought something new to the table with every session. Two of the best nights of my sexual life were spent with Jack.

I saw him in October 2022 and left a 4-star review on RM after which he blocked me. In the written portion of the review (not visible in the US) I said I felt that he was more focused on his needs rather than mine. I even rec’d a message thru RM from some unknown person asking me why I had said what I did. And I responded to that person honestly. And then deleted the message. Overall he did all right but not, in my opinion, worthy of 5 stars. My recollection is that he had a nice body (very hairy!) and if he was thick around the middle that would not have bothered me. (Truthfully I do not remember.) It wasn’t a bad experience but neither was it exceptional; it was, to be honest, pleasant. I would not, however, hire again.

Eight-packs do nothing for me … but something about that look of insouciance … and that weapon between his legs … what is it about gay men and Cowboy attire … ???

I , too, did not love Titanic. As soon as it hit the iceberg I was, “Oh, for shit’s sake just sink already!” CMBYN, however, spoke to the 17 year-old me and the then-50+ year-old me. If you didn’t love it I can respect that.

Oh mah God! Oh mah God! That combination of soap, sweat, cotton, laundry detergent, fabric softener, and testosterone. Jeez! Nothing like it in the world.
