  1. I've had a long-standing agreement with a friend that if I have a long hospital stay where my survival is in question, he will come to my condo and clean this stuff out so that my family does not need to do so.
  2. Sorry I missed it. I had attended the first two, but simply forgot about the one last night.
  3. I had the option to take a $0.40 per gallon discount on the gas. I started to accept it, but decided to save the discount when I noticed the price was $1.59.
  4. Same thing for me. I'm interested and just waiting for the pandemic to pass.
  5. I'm wondering if his decision to do this now has anything to do with his mother's passing last summer.
  6. Today I made my weekly grocery trip; however, I went to the Giant Eagle versus the Meijer store I've got to the last six weeks. I went to GE because my bank has a branch in that one and I received a small check that I needed to deposit in the ATM. On a Saturday morning, it was pretty empty. Everyone in the store - customer and employee wore a mask. One-way directions in the aisles and half the customers were not following them. Found everything I was looking for except Egg Beaters I use to make frittatas. (I haven't found them in four weeks now.) After picking up everything I needed, I stopped for gas. I hadn't filled the tank since Mar. 12 and in that time I had only driven 185 miles. (I'm usually refueling weekly.) It's been so long it took me a moment where the button was to release the gas cap.....
  7. I too am enjoying it. And the celebrities are "A" list.
  8. I think that is a stretch that while in the long-term is probably true - the franchisor does benefit from the franchisee remaining in operation; most franchisees are small businesses owning one, sometimes two locations. For many, it takes several years before they recoup their initial investments and even then do not have a reserve to sustain the business through the a long shut down like we're currently experiencing. Most professional sports teams actually have fewer than 500 employees, and the NBA is probably closer to 250.
  9. This one came on Sirius XM radio as I was headed to the grocery this morning. "Ease on Down the Road" from "The Wiz." https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=stephanie+mills+ease+on+down+the+road&view=detail&mid=530D70FADA54C13FB64A530D70FADA54C13FB64A&FORM=VIRE0&ru=%2fsearch%3fq%3dstephanie%2bmills%2bease%2bon%2bdown%2bthe%2broad%26form%3dEDGNTT%26qs%3dAS%26cvid%3dadaaaccf99fb48d2bd7644168bd7aa04%26refig%3d38efb5db480b45e091f71c1984cd39dc%26cc%3dUS%26setlang%3den-US%26plvar%3d0%26PC%3dHCTS
  10. Ceiling mirrors are great, aren't they? It's been years since I was in a room with one, and you've reminded me to find one after this stay at home order expires!
  11. I made my weekly grocery trip to Meijer's today. The produce section continues to be well stocked and the product looks great. This was the first time I've seen toilet paper on the shelf in over a month. While I have enough to last a few more weeks, I went ahead and bought a package even though it was not my preferred brand. It was only when I got home did it realize it was a "mega" roll-size package; that size is too big (imagine me complaining about something being too big) to fit on my toilet paper holder.
  12. I usually visit my barber every three weeks. I'm now more than seven weeks since my last visit. I've also sprouted a beard in this work from home environment. We'll see what happens when I can return to the office.
  13. I enjoyed the show Friday night and would do another. I liked this one more than the offering two weeks ago, when I felt the banter and stories went on too long. This week they did better breaking up the narrative with the contests. Although I've been on the mailing list for a couple of years, I've never been able to attend an Adonis event when in town. For me, these shows will help me prioritize attending one the next time I'm in NYC/LA.
  14. Same fogging up the eyewear for me. While I did my shopping without glasses just fine, I'm not sure how long I would be able to work with foggy lenses if my office reopens to working on-site.
  15. Just returned home from my weekly trip to the grocery. Took longer than usual as I needed to grab a couple of items from the pharmacy section and it has been rearranged since the last time I bought bar soap. The men's Dove soap had been moved to be located with the shaving items and not the other bar soap. While there was no toilet paper on the shelves, this week the other paper products (facial tissues, paper towel) were fully stocked. I wore a mask (received in yesterday's mail from my mother who had made some) rather than the scarf I have worn out the last two weeks. It was surprising that nearly a third of the customers and half of the employees were not wearing masks. As I drove home, I realized that I have not filled the gas tank since I started working from home five weeks ago. And I still have more than a half tank left.
  16. As I made dinner here in central Ohio, where I have seen the snow falling today, I decided that I would pretend that I was having dinner at Tropicale as I have the last two years on Friday evening. Hope all of my Palm Springs pals, including the "breakfast guys" at InnDulge are all doing well. Take care y'all.
  17. I'll give it one more shot - - nothing else to fill my Friday night.
  18. Drinking more - yes. But for me that means that in the last five weeks I've consumer one bottle of wine and half a bottle of Bombay Sapphire.
  19. Received this message from a friend today... Of all the things I learned in grade school, how to avoid cooties was the last one I expected to use.
  20. No, not today. For me, the current situation has completely crashed my desire to be with anyone. Even the content in the "Hottest Massage Video Ever?" thread isn't doing anything for me the last two weeks. If that were to change, who knows whether I would ask you for his contact info.
  21. Happy Birthday, Eric. I too am enjoying your twitter posts. Thank you.
  22. The best thing to do is to continue making contributions. The deferred taxes helps and hopefully the market will rebound by the time you retire.
  23. PK - thanks for sharing your journey in this unusual time. Please know, we will read whatever you wish to share. As insightful as reading these posts have been to me, I pray that they also provide some relief to you. Sending a great big virtual hug your way.
